Going into that qualifier with one fit centre back and the other one Efe * Ambrose is nothing short of criminal from this board. Absolutely scandalous.

I have no problem with them doing business quietly, I prefer it actually. It's the getting business done and bring players in when we need them part I have a problem with

Another reason why I won't get duped into buying a season ticket...there is absolutely no ambition at all to have a good go in any European competition at all now...we are a club that will not push the boat out and as stated a club that doesn't do their business in time for these competitions.
We are just a club that is happy to attempt to be in with the big boys without really spending on some good players.
Getting in a manager like rodgers to fill the stadium and then leaving that * on the park....we need a few good players in...especially cb

Be interesting to see rodgers stance on this....as much as I loved Desmond getting in Brendan..I want to see some ambition after 4 years

Rodgers said he was hoping to sign a CB by yesterday but he also said the board are doing everything they possibly can to help him and if he doesn't sign anyone it's of no fault of theirs.

I was hoping there would be a signing today but I'm sure the board would say that a top manager like Brendan Rodgers should be able to take the squad of players we have and get them through a two legged tie against Astana. And to be honest I would not disagree with them. We are paying our manager handsomely and part of earning that hefty wage packet is getting us through ties like the one coming up.

There better be at least two more new faces in the pipeline though. It's simply not acceptable to play the game of 'wait and see' and only bring in players if we actually make it to the Champions League group stage. Our board have been guilty of that in the past.

utterly ridiculous we haven't signed anyone in a position for which we have been lacking since we lost van dijk... They have used the doing all we can line for years now.

I think quite a few in the hierarchy naively believe that the signing of Rodgers will make up for a lack of transfer activity, that we'll pull through the qualifiers and fans won't care about what transfers we make at this stage because we've got a great manager. Unfortunately it doesn't quite work like that.

Everyone can see we need a new centre-back. We simply cannot go into this with having only one CB we can trust to do a job. People will say it takes time, but the fact is we should be making enquires and getting talks going well before this point so any newcomers are in and ready to play. The situation we have been left in, where we have to play only one CB, Ambrose, or someone who's not natural there is a * shambles.

Not sure if I'm inclined to believe that unfortunately, mate.

Getting a strong feeling of deja vu again.

Not surprised people are surprised that the Board aren't moving for transfers.

Can't wait for Lawwell to come out and say "We tried so hard to push a few over the line but etc"

We will let the denial element of the support defend it when it comes down to it.

This has to be the least inactive and as such under funded first season transfer window of a new manager.

Astana going to be a tough game, getting in Sinclair, Duffy, St Juste or any other player that could improve our team was vital for that as I can only imagine the next round should we get that far is going to be even tougher.

I'll admit this is getting a little tedious and frustrating now.

I was thinking that too but everyone agreed he must've been dealt a budget when he signed so he would have known the possibilities.

The thing that's * worrying me is across the city that mob have brought in a couple of decent additions, all free transfers. We look garbage at the back and mediocre in midfield and we have only brought in dembele.....

Naw * good enough a personally think the actions of this board have jeopardized 6iar never mind ten, after getting beat last week off a bunch of part timers a expected the board to throw the cheque book at Brendan....

    * shocking am discussted! A don't think we are ready for the champions league, if we get shafted next week we will only have our selves to blame quality additions should have been signed weeks ago!

I'm inclined to agree with this, a few weeks back I would said after the Dembele signing "right here we go, finally a transfer window to be excited over" and would have had faith that some of the other rumors would have become signings by now.

Now though we've missed the deadline to register players for the next round so now whoever we sign is going to be have to be one * of trump wildcard to shore us up in our defensive play.

I would say though I'm not sure about the quality of their additions, Barton maybe but can't help but feel his ego is going to get the better of him and he'll * off in Jan like a little spoiled princess and I do still wonder how they are bankrolling all the signings they are making, for a club that had to beg and scrimp together to pay off the loan from Ashley to then signing two players who's wages are likely to rival if not better Broony's and thats without adding on the extra wage cost of the other players they have brought in and that extinct bird their trying to sign.

They love trying to bring stuff back from the dead.

I can see why we maybe fell short with Sinclair, the quoted asking price was far too much. But the worrying thing is we couldn't even get Kolo in, who's a bosman, and only requires negotiations with wages etc. He is exactly what we need going in to this next qualifier.

I'm glad we didn't panic buy in any way, and I'd rather we waited for the right man at the right price, but surely the board can make that happen in a shorter time than it's currently taking.

Kolo Toure would be a terrible signing.

Your completely wide of the mark.

Was Liverpools best player in the europa final. Has bags of experience and he is a winner.
Whilst we are playing a midfielder at center back to get by.

The only downside to this move would be the amount of wages we would have to give.

Eh, I think some of you lot REALLY need to put yer tampons back in and calm the * down.

We've played TWO competitive games early on in the start of this season, conceded 1 and scored 3 - 3 of those goals coming in the last match were we totally dominated midfield, so how on earth you can say we are (especially) mediocre in midfield is total lunacy.

Aye, we'd have all liked - at least - another defender in before last night, but we haven't got one (yet), so chill the * out, our squad IS good enough to see out the next qualifying match under Rodgers.
