I think it's a good thing this has finally been brought to the fore.

The club needs to be strong and not bow to the pressure the hun media will heap on the us.
It's high time something was done about referees, this bias against us has being going on for years, but in general the standard is pretty poor.

Refereeing needs a massive overhaul there's so much riding on their decisions, I think they should be full time with a proper salary(this would attract a better calibre) and training facilities working constantly on the fitness, rules of the game and communication skills! They should also be able to explain their decisions after the game and if they're not up to the task they should be sacked like any other person.

This would help bring them in line with the modern game.

In the meantime Celtic should continue to fight for these changes as it's been going on far too long.:shamrock:

Agree let's concentrate on winning every game and winning the title.
No official would be able to stop us winning if we play at the top of our game

Agree 100% Referees are pick because of their profession not on ability to ref, why is that they think because your a policeman, teacher or lawyer, you meet the criteria(maybe because most are masons), its what's wrong with Scottish football, these are not people forced to referee they have a choice, there should be referee academies for these people to learn and train and should be full-time not part-time, am sure Celtic would let them use their facilities, an overhaul is needed for better standards and up until John Reids comments, all we were asking was an explanation on decision, funny how when ask about what team they support they strike is it because they don't want us to know the answer there would be uproar if an English man reffed a Scotland match so why is it OK for a hun or a tim to referee there biggest rivals matches, funny how they strike when the huns have a depleted squad and away from home(no loss of revenue for them), Celtic should seek compensation if games are called off, for loss of gates travelling expenses as a lot come from Ireland for the game, plus a lot of fans take time of work too for these games, and if the games go ahead with foreign refs then I think we have won anyway, don't think we need to strike as all the attention this strike has achieved will mean an investigation into affairs leading up to this.

But why should we work with a handicap, its usually in the bigger games these decision go against us when things are tight. all we are asking for is fairness, and its when we are winning we should complain as complaining once you lose just reeks of bad losers, and you lose all high ground.

wouldnt that just lead to us forfeiting the game and getting no points, basically handing the huns the league?

Dont like this idea, we should just rise above it and get on with the football. tbh its a bit of a cheek the refs going on strike when it was them who created the problem in the 1st place.

we're the ones who were cheated so it would have made more sense for us to take action but no, we shouldnt strike.

theres no need; we have the SFA right where we want them and if the rumour of doctored match reports is true then this whole saga will be set for another turn

best thing to do is just sit back and watch the scottish media monster and the refs trip each other up under the weight of their own contradictions

Nope, striking would be of no benefit to us, we'd just lose the 3 points and be made to look like dimwits.

Hit them in the pockets by not going to away games/cup games by all means but striking is pointless.

Cant help but think that all the talk of boycotting away matches is the way to go! Sure, people will still go, and that'll look bad on the boycott, but if we can just get enough to stop, it'll have a huge impact! Boycotting the cups would be a great achievement, but you know the fans wanna see trophies so this is a bit counter-productive, as much as i like it! We'd just have our own fans whining about it... Far better to turn out reserves of the squad, and advise fans only to go if the tickets are cheap enough to justify it!
as for the league, i think we just need to bear this *... we need to just keep winning, and following the procedures to highlight issues that are wrong... The strike by refs in response to criticism from LOTS OF MANAGERS (dunno why they keep saying its only us!) smacks of desperation, and will hurt THEM more than us! Just take a dignified stance and leave them hang themselves!

Bhoycotting away games is the best idea but the "faithful through and through" brigade wouldn't be up to it as a lot of our supporters are apathetic towards such moves and completely spineless.

Just because someone wants to support their team dosen't mean they are spineless.

We all want to support the team but sometimes taking a stand against decades of bias and injustice is more important.
