It could be deemed illegal I think, you could say they are self employed at the end of the day but I'd say referees have contracts with the SFA and they have to uphold minimum standards etc, if that is the case they'd have broken their obligations to the SFA and in turn the SFA would have broken their own to the SPL, this would never stand up in a legal arena in my opinion, if any club took them on this for lost revenue etc.. I imagine the excuse "We are sick of criticism" would be quite a weak defence.

the refs are pathetic and weak doing this pish! they * have lied for * knows how long and now we are getting in their faces they start to cry and strike. get a * * grip here ladies huh ffs. if dougie dougie just come out in the 1st place honestly said he * up,apologised to all? then this i dougt would be happening.

but it just shows you that this is further proof to me that the refs are corrupt even more and now the truth has come out they cant help try this to cover themselves and plant the blame(yet again) on someone else so they can get away with it again.

    * THE SFA! * THE REFS! come on celtic rip into them dont give up now. we will have our truth.

:50: you summed it up there with your fourth word of the post "Pathetic". This is something you would expect from a child if it didnt get its way. They really have made a laughing stock of the SPL and whats even worse is the wording of it, more or less saying its the fans of the clubs fault and we know what club the mean.

The SFA and their refs are truley * PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!

And no we shouldnt strike let the kids have their little hissy fit.

    Broony!!
This strike is one of the biggest jokes in Scottish football for a long time, and an even bigger joke is that everyone involved with Celtic are getting the blame. Suppose no one expected anything less.
Oh its our fault even though one of our top refs has admitted lying about decisions given against us, another gave a penalty against us even though it was a pure dive and he didn't even see it, the Ledley sending off and the refusal to give a handball against Hearts...maybe these are all still fresh in the memory but this * has been going on against us for years and years and they all filter in favour over to Ibrox!
Players take abuse from the stands week in, week out and just have to get on with it but these so called refs get a bit of flak now that they have been caught out as a bunch of dirty corrupt * ( which we have known for a long time but just get labelled paranoid!! ) and they pout and throw they're toys out the pram like a bunch of * weans and greet 'we're goin on strike'. I would'nt be surprised if this was a * stunt to deflect the stink away from themselves and get everybody in Scottish football to turn on us, even though we are just standing up for ourselves against an establishment who has conspired against us for so long.
Its so childish, but until we leave this * corrupt game in this country, which will probably never happen...things will never change.

I think ESPN/Sky & other sponsors, as well as member clubs will have something to say.

Wee Craig Brown is saying they have a duty to do the games, as it'll have a financial effect on his team losing money through gates, TV money, sponsorship...I think they'll be open to being sued by a lot of different parties if games were called off because of this..e.g. * hitting the fan big time.

    Lol my * off.

No that would only play into their hands and enable them to get after us again. I hope these refs do go on strike so we can futher highlight their corruption/incompetence. In the meantime the SPL can bring in outside refs and get on with the games.

if you have a contract with someone self employed or not its still breaking the contract and they (the refs) are in the wrong and the SFA can get someone else in and charge the refs to pay for it cause the are in breach of contract......

when you think about it our club is more important to the SFA than a handfull of * scum bag refs

think of the money the SFA would lose if we where on strike

sometimes you have to fight fire with fire and stop taking it on the chin letting people take, take and take

I like the fact the refs are going on strike. It shows progress has been made for us.

Also, 80% of the 31 "top refs" in Scotland don't even know the laws of the game. Only 5 of them passed a test conducted by the SFA on the laws of football.

Embarrasing. Top refs ma *' *. :redcard:

Put it this way, there is only one question on Hugh Dallas' Refereeing Test. " Do you support Rangers?"

I am a bit sad at the moment because I only do posts about the refs, I've almost forgotten about the Celtic team, but I believe this is the biggest story in Scottish football for years.

About this strike, they're upset about criticism to their integrity, any normal group of people with nothing to hide would do everything they could think of to prove their integrity.Suggest independent arbiters for example, call a press conference & discuss in the open Celtic's dossier of "honest mistakes", anything along these lines. Instead they go on strike & it is obviousely an attack on Celtic.By the way I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas had a hand in this.

Celtic don't need to do anything, ever since this started we have just watched them all get deeper in the mire.
Uefa may have to get involved now which would be great.

The sad thing is I now wonder just how valuable winning a Scottish title is, I would love Celtic to leave and play in England but can't see it happen.

Nether would I mate, it's clearly a ploy to save his and McDonalds jobs and make Celtic look as bad and paranoid as possible.
