McGregor, Naismith, and Bocanegra are the only ones good enough, but:

    1) McGregor would not give the same effort to us as he would to Rangers - so no thanks.

    2) Ditto with Naismith, and he's got dodgy knees at 25 - no again.

    3) Bocanegra......actually I'd say yes....but he'll probably go to the MLS.

well just take a look at the players lenny has been looking at,totally embarrissing.theres been no ambition from lenny or the board this transfer window.no wonder people are suggesting taking some of the rangers players cos theyre better than a league 1 diddy or a championship reject. and just remember rangers played us of the park twice at ibrox last season.

The 'dross' you speak of have won more titles than us over the last few years, and despite what was going on in the background, etc. still did well last season. The majority don't suit our style, but there are winners in there and any Scottish team would be glad to have them.

And let's get it straight. We're not going to build a team for the CL. We'll make do with what we've got, and focus on controlling the balance sheets.

I think some people have this impression we were far superior to rangers last season, yes we were better, but not by much

    Nah, we don't.

    McGregor is better than Zaluska.

Bocanegra is better than either Rogne or Mulgrew.

Whittaker is about as good as Matthews.

Davis is better than our fans give credit, and he's better than Ki, Brown, Commons, who all get games for us.

Aluko would get a game, as well.

Don't see how Naismith wouldn't, either.

McCabe has potential to be a quality midfielder, too.

    100% :50:

What do people think the chances are of spending £2-3m on a keeper who turns out to be better than McGregor who is free? How much do people think we would need to spend to bring in a player like Davis?

There was a lot of rubbish in that squad but there was some talent as well and now they cost nothing. If Rangers werent involved Im sure many people would be a lot more keen.

McGeough started at us the left to join the * pit then came back to us. I don't think any of the ssfc players are good enough for us

Wow! And what players has Lenny been looking at that are "embarrassing"? I take it the league 1 "diddy" you speak of is Rhodes?

The DROSS that I speak of were part of the team that gave up a (what was it) 17 point lead? Yes - sounds like a good season that.

Granted they have been in the team that has won the league over past few seasons, but our players showed last season we ARE BETTER than them - so why take players from a team that has shown to be INFERIOR to us? Hardly a step up now is it.

"And let's get it straight. We're not going to build a team for the CL. We'll make do with what we've got, and focus on controlling the balance sheets."

Is that right now? Are you privvy to some information that the rest of "Joe Public" are not?

Aye, if you completely ignore context. They had as bad a season as any club possibly could off the park, and had to work with a depleted squad. Not to mention, they got off to the season in the worst possible fashion, failing to qualify for the CL. That's going to knock anyone's confidence, players and supporters, included.

Being part of last season's squad does not make every single member of it a poor footballer. That's what I'm considering them on: talent, ability, mental toughness. Some of them have shown that in past seasons, and I think credit needs assigned. I'd love to bash them, and I do from time to time, but they're no longer Rangers men. What's the point?

No, of course, I am not. However, if you assess our transfer activity under Neil and Lawell's tenure, you'll understand that we'll not be carrying out any kind of serious business. We may sign a rough gem or two, but no one of considerable quality that would be able to take us to that next level.

Maybe next summer, when we've had a CL season under our belt, and the Huns are back in the mix, but there's no point in the club spending serious amounts of money in this window.

On the basis that Mulgrew is not a defender. Winning a player of the year award does not automatically defer you to being a quality player in your position. He's won the award by showing his ability of moving out of defence and offering us something different, something you don't generally see in Scotland.

It's a big difference between last season's award winner, Izaguirre, who was being looked at by the big boys south of the border. That may have been paper talk, but you could well believe it. Charlie, for all his talents, will never play for a big EPL side. Emilio, on the other hand, almost certainly will.

Whittaker and Davis are steady players, and while they may not be everyone's cup of tea, I'd consider them to be just as good of footballers as Matthews and Brown. Thankfully, we have those two who suit our play far better, but if we're just talking in terms of talent, I don't see how they'd not get a game for us.

Naismith is a despicable player, and I don't have any time for him, but he's a better option than anyone else in our team. Forrest will undoubtedly become a better player, but Naismith's experience holds the edge. Plus, he's a more versatile kind of player.

And from what I've seen of McCabe, he has a bright future in the game. I like his passing skills. Something we struggle with, at times.

Not saying your wrong, your entitled to your own opinion, but other than the 3-2 game how much have you seen of him. He played well in that game, because we were down to 9 men so weren't able to close him down, even still his performance was overrated imo. He got completely schooled in our 3-0 win against them. He is probably the most overated player in Scottish Football. Where would he honestly fit into our already extremely competitive midfield? Answer is, he wouldn't.

As for Whittaker being as good as matthews, that is quite ridiculous, they aren't even close

You cant sign a player from an inferior team?? Hardly a step up ?? Most of our current players came from inferior teams.

None of them! Not now, not ever!!!

As for those mentioning Dylan - he was with Celtic originally but the story goes that his wee brother wasn't getting a game (as he wasn't as good) so their dad went in a big huff and took them out of Celtic and over to der hun!!!

Lenny wanted him back at CP, where he belongs and Dylan was happy to come home!

    The end!

    Hail Hail
