He could have easily done that but a striker one on one you'd expect one outcome with the time and space he had..
I don't blame a striker for being selfish in that position but when its not executed at all,it looks really poor..

It was the only thing he should have done in that position, keeper came out and they were 2 on 1 with him, absolutely shocking decision to go it alone. His decision making is probably the worst thing about him though, just seems to pick the wrong option a lot of the time.

Even times linking up with commons today and the wavelength wasn't there,passing behind ir commons dropping to space and stokes playing it infront,just didn't work overall..

If griffiths isn't cup tied i can see him starting next week..

 

Just seen that one on one again on Sportscene. He did see Boerrigter as he turned his head to look just before he got into the box.

Good squad player to have around but isn't the quality to be leading the Celtic attacking line.

On this season's form I'd say yeah.

That miss at the end - where he neither acted greedily but scored, or selflessly squared it to a teammate for a tap-in is worthy of being dropped and for me sums up his form this season.

Commons can be greedy but he's scored over 20 goals and contributes a * of a lot more to our attacking play. Pukki hasn't scored as much as he probably should have but he works hard for the team and you can bank on him putting a shift in. Stokes does neither effectively - he's not scoring, and he's not putting the performances in.

 

The terrible thing is Stokesy's got worse. So, so much worse.

If he was a youngster or a new signing i'd be willing to give him time to settle, aclimatise and fit in. But he's been here 4 years, all his fanclub have been moaning at Lennon for never playing him in big games and picking Hooper ahead of him, well this season's been his big chance - we didn't replace Hooper so he finally had the chance and did he grasp it with both feet?

No he's well and truly * it with some dreadfully shocking performances. It's not that he's just been missing chances, but he's been slouching around offside with a heavy touch and lethargic attitude. Like an even *, almost as lazy, Irish Samaras.
No-one except his very biggest fans expected him to perform against the Barcas and Milans, but he didn't even score against Clinftonville ffs.

Stokes ffs this was your opportunity mate - y u no step up to the plate?!?!?

 

Never the striker, I'm amazed he's escaped criticism for this long, I think Pukki stole his thunder.

Knowing Lenny we'll see Sammy and Stokes get the nod next week ahead of youngsters and other hungry forwards.
