Never saw or heard anything of the game, so I can't comment on Stokes. Was he honestly that bad?

Had a conversation with my mate today about him. We both agreed Stokes was more effective in a front two partnership ie Stokes and Hooper. The way we play just now, either one up or a front 3 with two wide players doesn't suit him - it limits his play as a goalscorer. I think we can all agree Stokes is a good player in the league when the formation suits him/plays to his abilities. Otherwise he looks lost, isolated or off the pace. (just an opinion).

The same can apply to Pukki.

He wasn't as bad as it seems. He had a few moments in the first half but faded badly in the second, including making a complete * of a two on one with the goalkeeper, which he acknowledged on twitter as a complete balls up.

Today certainly was not his best game of the season. But I can see Stokes and Griffiths forming a very good partnership. It will be interesting to see what happens next week against Aberdeen in terms of who plays up front.

Anybody else think that Stokes and Commons should either a) both have free roles to roam about or b) both play behind the main striker whoever that may be? Stokes is not and never will be the 30 goal a season striker some thought he would be. Samaras excelled on the left wing when he was struggling for goals soon into Lenny's reign. There was much less pressure on him to do so, I feel if Stokes was given a free role when on the pitch the same could happen to him...

Just one of those games for me where he got it all wrong, the one on one was criminal how wide he went and the finish high and wide made it look even worse, when Forrest dinked it to the back post and stokes somehow managed to play a lovely pass back to kello instead if finding a man in the 6 yard box..
2 moments that summed it up.

He had decent moments, nice neat one two's and a decent shot just past the post..

Was still too much drifting out wide and too many wrong decisions(miss placed passes)..

I doubt he'll start against the sheep..

He's been * dreadful this season.

It's agonisingly sad how utterly * he is without Hooper.

He's greedy but doesn't have the talent or finishing power to justify his level of selfishness.

Balde must be banging his head off a brick wall why he can't get a game ahead of this numpty.

The keeper ran out and spooked him. It was good goalkeeping, but he should have slotted it home. There was no need to take it round the keeper, but he wasn't sure where the defender was, saw the keeper racing out, took his eye off the ball for a split second, and took a heavy touch.

Don't get why others can't see/echo these thoughts?

This is exactly what's wrong with Stokes.

He should have dinked it or picked a spot,a striker with complete confidence would have exposed kello..

Yes i would, he has had ample opportunity now to put himself as the clubs main goal threat and he has never took it.

Love the guy but Griffiths would outscore him for fun i think.
