If he was "brilliant" when he started games then he would have kept his place surely??

Yes, we need width. And hopefully be more consitant over 90 mins, and give us more goals, especially Paddy's type of goals.

Paddy comes on for us and all he does is....

    Slow down play.
Refuse to pass to team mates.
    Try to be the hero.

I dont like greedy players, never have and i never will. Hated playing with them myself and I hate watching them. I just dont understand 'Paddys * Army', they blindly support the guy when he rarely offers us very much when he is brought on.

I would go with Forrest on Thursday before Commons, think Kris is carrying a knock. Wouldnt bring Paddy in though.

No unfortunatly Lenny likes to do things his own way, Commons was his signing and he was determined to prove he was right. Which judging by his goals maybe he was. However his form is very poor so surely he derserves a chance?

I really do not understand, he made about 20 passes when he came on, he tried about 2 runs, one was nearly successful. Surely that proves that wrong? Its a sterotype that is getting very old and boring now.

Yes it is, people want Paddy to score, he tries to make a run and it doesn't come off so he's greedy, they want him to pass, he passes, his team mates end up losing the ball or don't pass themselves and suddenly it's all Paddy's fault. They must be invisible passes too if you were to listen to some of the prats on here. On Sunday, a lot of people weren't even showing for the ball or making runs so what else was Paddy to do but try something himself.
I agree that he sometimes slows the game down but on Sunday, the game was going nowhere anyway. paddy looks a bit * off at being asked to be the hero from the bench every week and i don't blame him, anybody would be. In my opinion, Forrest never has any ideas and should only come on as a last resort.

lets be honest here its the spl , i know its only paddy the impact player we know what type of player he is , likes to run at players and score great goals yet some fans don,t like this , happy to grind teams down , and to work very hard for the team , i know paddy not in the leauge as messi or ronadlo , [spl] lol, but do you ask players like them track back don,t think so , why do some fans want to stop paddy doing what he does best taking players on .

Absolute rubbish mate, there are a few Lenny signings that don't get a game, he forked out nearly 4 million on Juarez and he never played him! He paid pennies for Commons so I don't think he would have any problem making him win a place in the starting 11 if paddy was playing so well! I don't think he deserves a chance anymore than Forrest and Maloney, both who have looked sharper than Paddy when called apon!

i think at times he tries to do too much , but thats because he keeps being given these small windows of opportunity to shine . he has great vision and i think he should be at least given a chance to prove he could be an impact player over 90 min imo

Commons was great...last season, hes not this season, why else wont he drop him?

Apart from Forrest did nothing when brought on, Maloney was average all the way through. The moment we went a goal down, Commons off McCourt on. Says a lot really. Sharper? But for a guy who doesnt player or "isnt sharp" has he not got more goals?

Exaclty, when hes brought on theres a huge hype around him and everyone is expecting a wonder goal. If he came on and play like Commons did, just made a few * passes, then he would never get a chance again. Lennon expects him to try his runs, thats what hes best at.

I think part of the problem is they don't give him enough time to settle in to the game when he comes off the bench. It is all a bit desperate and I think Paddy tries to take it on himself to win the match.
When you watched the St Johnstone game you saw a lot of passes being placed across the pitch and not enough getting in behind, i think Paddy is one of the few who can bring that to the team. If you are going to start playing him then do it for at least half a dozen games to give him some confidence.

The last time the two leagues met in Europe was when newly promoted to the SPL cup finalists Gretna were given an absolute hammering at home by Derry City.5-1.A real drubbing. And ironically enough Paddy was on the bench for Derry that night coming back from injury.
