this is nonsense in my opinion, a complete myth. paddy mccourt started a number of games from the beginning of last season until january time, and perhaps played his best all-round game at ibrox in the samaras 2-0 game. kris commons arrived and was quality, and quite rightly kept mccourt out the team, but now commons performances have dipped and should be benched for mccourt.

mccourt is a real footballer and entertainer, something which scottish football is sorely lacking, and would sum up the league if a player with paddy's skill is not appreciated and has to leave.

what ridiculous reasoning that is. why is it that niall mcginn doesn't get the same adulation then? maloney didn't waste the ball the same amount of times as mccourt today, he wasted more. i don't know what game you were watching, but mccourt was on for 15 mins today and was the only one who looked like scoring and/or create anything.

does,nt matter where any player comes from they will be judged on their ability which paddy mccourt has in abundance , imo we have players getting a regular game while not performing such as majstorovic who must be the worst celtic centre half i have seen since wullie garner , ledley, stokes ,commons have all been poor in recent games yet still play even when players like samaras ,maloney , wanyama come in to stake a claim for a jersey they don,t seem to be the answer mccourt always looks our best bet yet our manager usually only gives him 10 minutes .

He was rank rotten when he came on for the last 30 mins to be honest, no he should not be starting, gave the ball away, was greedy and missed an absolute sitter, maybe not a sitter but i don't know how he hit the * post.

He was the best player when he came on. He joined a team of people who really didnt give a * and made the best of a bad situation. Taking on a few players then hitting the post isnt a sitter.

and yet still did more than the majority of the team, who were on the park for the full 90mins. paddy mccourt was on the park for 15mins, and created the best chance out of nothing for himself.

Huh ? didn't he come on after they scored their goal which was around the 60 minute mark?

Anyway i must have been watching a different game but he showed me today why he doesn't start or get more game time, wasteful in possession.

No but Maloney and Forrest should, or a combination of 2 out of the three of them.
What happened to the silky fast flowing football we've become accustomed to? We aint gonna win games if we play 4 defenders AND 3 defensive midfielders. I would at the very least give him more than the 8 or 9 minutes he seems to get though.

    What a waste of talent.

Yes he should at least be given the chance to show what he can do.

Forrest has done nothing when he has come on recently except run down blind alleys. Paddy was unlucky not to score.

Yes. I disagree with the people who say he's an impact sub. He beats men easily because he's such a skilful player, doesn't matter if it's the 10th minute or the 80th minute. If he started every game on the left wing he'd end up with about 15 goals and would easily be POTY.

He may tire quickly, so what? Start him and sub him around the hour mark instead of bringing him on at the hour mark.

2 wingers starting in the mould of paddy and forrest would be committing suicide, our midfield would get outnumbered and simply bypassed.

I am not a broony lover but i do not want a repeat of mowbrays 4-2-4 formation, celtic cannot play with 2 attacking wingers who do not regularly track back and help the full backs, scott brown for all his limited capabilities will do that.
