Should Celtic offer Anthony Stokes a new contract or not?

As people have said I think we have to especially as we are not sure how long Hooper will be here unless we are 100% confident Lassad or Miku are going to get as many goals as him. If we were to let him go and replace him by bringing someone in it wouldn't matter what reputation the new player had sometimes players struggle to settle at new clubs. I am personally a big fan of Stokes although I know some people aren't we know what we are going get with Stokes. If we were to let him go I think we would have to get someone in and be confident they could score the goals first.

I would say make him earn it, but their is a danger that a championship, or although unlikely a premier league side coming in and offering a contract.

Absolutely. He's a very important member of the team who on his day can score as many as Hooper, as well as providing tons of assists. His partnership with Hooper is as good as we've seen since Sutton and Larsson. Given that Hooper may well be away in the summer, Watt is still young and developing, the jury is still out on Miku though quite frankly I can't see why the club would want to extend his stay here and Lassad looks decent but not really like and out and out striker, we need Stokes here.

I'm not sure I understand Stokes' current contract situation.

Why is a guy this good "playing for a contract"? I've heard/read this a lot lately.

Aren't other clubs looking to pre-sign him?

Does he wanna stay with Celtic that badly that he's not interested in listening/accepting offers from other clubs ... or is it a case he's simply not getting any interest?

He's a fantastic striker, but there's a wee bit of baggage. Clearly.

Remember that whole ordeal with his Dad awhile back, and those rumours that he wanted to leave if he wasn't gonna be played in the biggest games? What happened there?

He's got a strange history with Celtic.

Personally, I hope he stays. Always been one of my favourite players.
