It's inevitable that at some stage whoever we play in goal is going to be criticised for not being Artur Boruc, that's a sure fire thing.

Personally though, I wouldn't be unhappy going into the new season with Zaluska in goal. By all accounts Cervi will make a decent backup. Unless Lennon wants to go down the route of finding a more experienced option. But personally I wouldn't consider it a problem position right now - in fact, it's probably the only non-problem position we have.

I can already see posts stating that "Boruc would have saved that one". Its the same with people pining for Bellamy & Keane to return.

Boruc was probably looking for one last big contract and Celtic didnt want to give him one.

    A) Erratic Form

    B) Clashes with teammates, i.e. Naylor & McGeady

    C) Zaluska - When was the last time we had 2 goalkeepers that performed well in all competitions?

I dunno how some people arent concerned about the scenario where Zaluska gets injured. Cervi is a complete unknown quantity at SPL level. Also he's 24 and only played a handful of competitive games in his career. Steve Harper is being rumoured, not a bad player to bring in but wont he want to be no.1?

I dont think there is a problem position in the team at the moment but there isnt a star player, just a collection of average and above average players. I'd very much like Celtic to buy Keane or get another quality player. I know people will bang on about costs but its time for Lawwell and the board to justify their bonuses and find a way of doing it.

Selling Boruc is good business - he had become a liability and was never gonna recapture the form that we know he was capable of. Zaluska should be OK and Cervi also - I mean why did we buy them? Coaches gotta work to bring the best out of them. If a top class keeper became available it migh be worth the investment but who would that be? Don't say Gordon - another one who flatters to deceive. Mind you I think he would have been OK had he not gone south.

Three keepers is a must. We have a few in the reserves and under 19s but we need a quality back up for Zaluska. Cervy hasn't played enough first team games at SPL level and I'd be all for getting a decent keeper on loan until we find one that is of the quality we need. Paul Gallacher springs to mind, but cannae see The Buddies letting him go on a loan deal or any other deal til they get a replacement.

Absolutely but not to replace Boruc- I think it's time for Zaluska to be the main man between the sticks. We need a third keeper though to keep competition fresh and in case of injuries.

Zaluska won't replace Boruc but I think he'll bring a new flavour to the team. Boruc did his service and moved on, as far as I'm concerned that's that, no point crying over it.

How about an approach for another polish goalie in Tomasz Kuszczak who is maybe third choice at Man Utd behinde Van Der Sar and Ben Foster?

Lenny saying If we get a new keeper in then he would let Cervi go out on loan to get first team experience.. Also says Cervi will be playing against Philadelphia.. (From a Channel 67 interview)

Foster moved to Birmingham.. I don't see Kuszczak being available..

Agree with this totally , I think that gordan is a NO CHANCE he is worth £7mil+ why spend that on a keeper when we could get ENYEAMA for about £3mil at most and spend the budget we do have on a * good goal scorer :icon_mrgreen:

I'd like to see him being given a bash at no.1 but I do have to say that I wouldn't be overly surprised if he didn't live up to my expectation.

I think Zaluska will be our No.1 goalkeeper with Big Dom our No.2
If we really need to get another goalkeeper, that Jonny Tuffey of Partick Thistle is getting a lot of attention.
