Watched the 8 min long videos.

Definitely gives more of an insight into his style. He definitely isn't the most technical of strikers, but neither was Kyogo tbh.

Looks to be able to finish with both feet, great at winning fouls and bringing players into the game and surprisingly good in the air for his height. A bit like Kvistgaarden, dare I say?

Looks more Combative than any of the Japanese players we've had, don't think he will shy away from anyone and likes to cause a bit of chaos with defenders, something we lack.

As an addition to the frontline I like this tbh. Think he will score goals for us.

Like the look of his work rate in those videos, gets stuck in physically and a few headed goals as well. Don't think it's a bad signing at all but as ever, there's a chance he doesn't settle well in Europe which could affect his game.

The negativity on this one for me is more down to timing, Yamada’s poor season so far combined with having just sold Kuhn. If he had come in alongside two exciting wingers, add in Nygren and I think the reaction would be different.

And probably due to uncertainty over who he is coming in to challenge or replace.

I still think it makes sense for Osmand to get a loan out. I don't think it's a given that he agreed to come here on the potential to get maybe 10 or 15 starts in the season if he's lucky.

If he does go out and Maeda stays, I'm quite content until January with Idah and Yamada challenging centrally. Provided we sign at least two wingers as you say, although still think we need 3 given Jota. Added to the fact Yang, Palma and Tilio all hopefully away.

He looks like he has good workrate and movement but his record this season is cause for concern. His low fee is the only thing that provides some reassurance.

I think fans are justified in being critical of this one, given the position we find ourselves in I’m not sure it’s one that strengthens the starting XI.

We have a few real jewels in our squad at the moment, CCV, AJ, KT, CM, Reo, Daizen, Jota.. we just need a sprinkle of quality to add to that.

With Rangers scouring the championship for bargains, it feels like we have a real opportunity to capitalise on a position of strength. It would be nice to see our board/recrutment show a bit more ambition.

Type of signing we’ll likely use a lot in Europe as well, he can do everything and allows us to use Maeda wide. Just need a good pacey right winger now.

Think he's going to surprise a lot of us. Workrate looks very good as does his movement as other have said. He could very well be a great signing.

I suspect it'll be Idah/Yamada (in whatever order) first and second striker, Maeda back out wide left and the boy from Fulham or Kenny third choice, depending on who impresses preseason.

And then maybe we make a significant signing probably on the right wing.

He's looks like what Prime Morelos should have been if he wasn't fat. I love the way he bulldozes defenders, he will have no trouble in domestic football with his strength & aggression for sure.

    Delighted.

He'll be the best striker since Larsson.

Haven’t really understood this, the other Japanese lad or the boy from Fulham’s signings but * it. In Celtic we trust :fear:

With all the mixed opinions....ones that habe stood out to me.is....fast as maeda, clever like kyogo..
    That seems superhuman.

Work rate up top is what ange and now Rodgers really wants and he seems to have it in abundance.

Hope so. Big Idah does score goals but his work rate isn’t great

Thats one of his greatest flaws.
Gor a big guy doesn't use it enough. Has a good burst of pace but lacks awareness and work rate

Seems he could be a bit of a Maeda a quick, hardworking guy that presses a lot from the front and even one season where he scored for fun which is similar.

Fastest Maeda ran in Japan was 35kmh, Yamada 35.4kmh this season the 2nd fastest in the League https://www.jleague.co/stats/players/j1/2025/all/top_speed/all/

Also sprints per 90 minutes 20.2, Maeda last season at least in the CL was 24.5 which im sure was a massive outlier.
