The plan is to sign them, hope they work out and sell them on at a profit. It think the club transfer strategy is pretty clear on that.

We cant tie transfer policy to a manger. Especially one who is likely to be leaving.

Maybe the club have had the indication from Rodgers he's doing 3yrs and that's that..

If that's the case then im ok with 'club signings'

It looks sensible on the face of it. These guys will be raw and can be bought now to be developed ready for the next manager. Even Rodgers' critics will admit that developing players is one of his strengths. It looks like good forward planning.

The trouble is that Rodgers, IMHO, has a track record of not developing or giving game time to players he didn't sign and didn't want. Or rather, to be a bit more exact, he has a track record of giving them one chance initially
(which some take TBF) and never giving a second one if he decides he doesn't trust them. Yang might be the only player I can think of who got a 2nd and 3rd chance from Rodgers, perhaps because he seems to have an exemplary attitude.

So unless they have a plan to incentivise Rodgers to give these players second or even third chances, we might essentially be signing the 2025 equivalent of Holm and Lagerbielke: they'll rot on the bench and be no further on in their development (or maybe even have regressed) when the new manager arrives next summer.

I hope they have an idea in mind to deal with that. I guess time will tell.

I think we always target these kind of signings no matter who we have in charge. We look to have identified Asia as a value for money market. If Rodgers was here for another 5 years I still think we would be signing these kind of players.

Seems unlikely he's extending given we are into preseason does it not?

Unfortunate phrase “we’ll have a look at him” when he’s supposedly signed. What if Brendan doesn’t like what he sees?
