Haha what a *! Shay is 100% Irish and is a world class goalie and we REALLY SHOULD push out the boat for him,he would be an outstanding signing for us.

 

Agreed. We need a top keeper this year to help get some trophies. Personally i blame Forster for the 2 goals that Rangers scored in the league cup final, i know he wasn't too bad generally but Given would be a lot better.

 

If you would rather sign Forster over Given then you really need to you should seek medical help and should no longer be allowed an opinion.

Given is only 35. He could easily play for another 3 or 4 seasons.

The fee being quoted is £3M, if this is correct then we would be stupid not to go for him.

He is easily one of the top 5 keepers in the Premier League and would bring much needed leadership and experience to a relatively young and inexperienced side.

IMO he would take a pay cut to play for Celtic and if we had to give him 30-40k a week to secure his services then we should pay it. He would be an instant hero and could be the difference in our title bid & also a good run in Europe.

 

If we were to pay him £50,000 a week, that'd be about £2.5million over a year, it's a lot, but even that figure seems very much worth it.

 

how much of a boost would it be if we got given and keane, if only we could without spending too much and wages cut obviously.... ahh one can dream

yeah another on a long long list. when is it ever enough......given is a wealthy wealthy man.....surely at some point it must become about the football or even the medals and silverware..........still cant fathom robbie keanes desire to return to the mediocrity of who wants him in the premiership.......i'd bet he regrets not staying with the celtic. at least i hope he does.

 

Fan or no fan world class goal keeper and at his age can still do a great job for good few year .

So for me this only goal keeper i want and i know what im talking about when it comes to goal keeping as i am one . he our missing link .

we never offered Keane a deal, because Redknapp he was not interested in selling unless it was for good money. Hardly Keanes fault now is it?

 

given not comin here. we offer bout 25k a week, epl club give him at least 50k, we cant afford westwood not talk bout given, we get cheap or keeper on free or loan, somebody nobody knows. or forster back on loan

 

The reason players wont come here are many. Outside Scotland the SPL barely registers on anyones radar, unless its for the wrong reasons. The financial rewards and recognition available to players in England are huge.

Given would be a great keeper to come to us at this stage. He probably would be able to give us a few seasons. We need to get rid of this mentality that if Celtic fans dont beg to come to us they can * off. Football doesnt work like that.

If Given, or Keane, or Bellamy come to us, they would be fantastic signings. Would fans rather we signed lesser players who were badge kissers?

Keane was a great player for us. Pity he came under a manager who was a nightmare for us. Bellamy was another terrific player and I would love to see him back here. In reality these payers are financially out of our league, but I would welcome them back here.

 

So Keane and Given arent proper fans because they havent joined us even though we havent agreed a fee with either club? Cop on!
