    Maloney was on the plane with the Villa squad for there Uefa cup game he wasnt stripped but hey tell your pal he definitly traveled and was nowhere near the Huns.

    maybe not starting him every week, but he got his fair share of matches.

    played at ibrox a few times aswell.

    AND WHY THE * DO WE NEVER ACCEPT ANYONE BACK ONCE THEY LEAVE, THIS * IS EVEN MOANING ABOUT MARTIN O'NEILL NOW.

    maloney - nah he left don't want him.
    Petrov - left don't want him.
    Larsson - left, aye we'll take him back though.

    We should sign him because this is Def Naka's last season and having McGeady on 1 wing and Maloney on the other constantly switching would be very attractive and attack minded

    The Herald understands Celtic are continuing to monitor Shaun Maloney's situation at Aston Villa and may make an attempt to re-sign their former player before the transfer deadline. The forward is desperate to return home after falling out of Martin O'Neill's first-team plans but Villa, who signed Maloney for £1m in January 2007, are looking to recoup their outlay, including wages.

    Celtic will not meet that fee and realise they are in a strong bargaining position with Maloney, who was criticised along with his agent, John Halliwell, during an acrimonious departure.
