the ones in bold I'll give you, the last one, you can't be serious, O'Neill wouldn't play him, and man oh man looks at whats happened, O'Neill aint playing him. Truth is, they have Young and Abonglahor, both better than Maloney.

I'd personally be happy if he came back, Cause i was watching the 2005/06 season review yesterday and forgot how good he was that year, His goal against Dunfermline was a cracker as well

I for 1 would welcome him back with open arms. I would also hate the fact that he could cross to the dark side although I dont think we would let that happen.

As for him jumping ship then coming back. There are other players we have welcomed back in the past
Nicholas, McAvennie and if my memory serves When we signed Viduka he quit straight away without kicking a ball although we still had to pay for him. We signed Viduka in December 98 and he did not make his debut until Feb 99 now that was a lot worse and he was forgiven

Why not take him back? He left in order to try and further his career as a football player in a more testing league and would recieve better wages. Is anyone here going to say they wouldnt jump at the chance for a more high level job with better money? Of course Celtic are a much bigger team but money does talk and if anyones going to be hypocritical enough to criticise shaun then they should reasses the situation in terms of their own job and promotional opportunities. It's clear he took the step too early and that he's obviously realised this mistake, TB did warn him. He was a great player for us and every performance he was dedicated.

I cant believe some of the people on this like. What is the point of arguing over who live in the nicest place. Its a Joke. Can we keep on topic please.

I really hope Shaun comes back. He is the type of player we need to mix things up this season and personally after McDonalds performance and sulking on sunday I don see why Shaun could not fit in there right up top with JVOH.

If he did I bet he would get 30 goals next season

After the outstanding season McGeady had, it's gonna be hard to top. For me, anyway, I think McGeady's struggled to get going, I know it's early and we've played one competative game, but having someone like Maloney vying for the same position would push him on.

Ive heard this one doing the rounds as well. Something along the lines that Rangers had first option on him due to the Cuellar deal and that he was at Murray Park for a fitness test etc. Im sure its a load of pish. If it were true tho I wouldnt be happy!

we need to remember, the player will decide where he goes , not the club!

No way Maloney would go to them. He aint that stupid!

Im sure this is bollix. Villa didnt need any options due to the clause in Cuellars contract - 10 mill euros, bye bye. Theres not a sniff of it anywhere else. Desperate Huns trying to find something to crow about.

TBH, even if it happened, I wouldnt give a toss. The huns will hate him because of who he used to play for, and he wont fit in well with wee bassa in the long term, so I think everyone should just calm doon!

I've been to Birmingham twice and its not exactly a beautiful city but I think we should respect people's homes on here and we can keep those opinions to ourselves.

Maloney to Rangers is NOT going to happen, and I for one, would be very pleased to see him back at Celtic. Maloney wont just be competing directly with Aiden McGeady cos he can play as second striker along with a target man like JVOH or Samaras. Maloney was such a good set piece taker and he was pretty decent with his penalties too! We dont have a good right footed free kick taker just now in the Celtic team so Maloney will be perfect.

I dont know if this means anything but Maloney has not played today in Aston Villa's UEFA Cup.

Why is he being left out?

Could it be to prevent him being cup tied for Celtic???

Wishful thinking maybe but I find it hard to believe that Villa would leave him out. He is quality!

And on a separate now it angers me to see Petrov being wasted in a defensive midfield role tonight, hes so much better making those attacking runs and scoring goals. Its such a waste.
