yeah, just read the DailyMail. says they want the bidding to start at £5m with us, Newcastle, Everton, Sunderland and Birmingham. can't see us opening the bidding at £5m. he'd probably go for anything between £4m-6m.

says we're also interested in James Vaughan and Ashley Williams. think it's all dependent on who goes up and who stays in the Championship.

i think we'll offload Murphy in the Summer and get a striker in. in an ideal world i would get rid of Murphy and Samaras and bring in Long and Vaughan. i think we need another centre back to go along with the signing of K.Wilson. is Williams the answer? i do not know.

I think the way Lennon acts in the transfer window by picking up good bosmans and cheap deals makes it quite possible that we could spend around £5M on one player, especially if we qualify for the Champions League.

What excites me more is that Lennon looks to be trying to get the deals done early so he has everything in place for pre season.

Out: Hooiveld, Loovens, Hinkel, Cha, & Murphy

In: (Matthews & Wilson pre contract) Westwood/Forster or Given, Williams, & Long

    Some team :

    --------------------Westwood(New Keeper)

    M.Wilson---Majstorovic-------K.Wilson-----Izaguirre

    Brown--------Kayal----------Ledley-------Commons

    -------------Hooper---------Stokes

    "Reserves"

    -----------------------Zaluska

    Matthews-----Rogne-----------Williams------Mulgrew

    McCourt--------Ki--------------Juarez-------Maloney

    ----------------Samaras--------Long

There is no way we will pay £5m for Messi, never mind this guy. Especially if you only have him as a "reserve" mate.

I'm pretty sure if we were offered messi for 5 million, we'd buy him instantly.

5 million for Long? no thanks. The guy has had one good season in the championship and yes he's been dynamite and i'd love him at maybe 3 million but that money could get you an accomplished champions league quality striker

5 million is to much. Itay Shechter would be a better and cheaper option.

5 million is far too much for him. If Lennon can find players like kayal and izzy surely he can find a class striker for a quarter of 5 million.

I think he only has 12months left on his contract would be more than happy enough if we paid 2 or 3million for him.

I've been watching quite a lot of him and he's really impressive.

Would be happy paying anything up to £3M as well, he's well worth the risk in my opinion.

You do realise that we brought in far more than that from sales yet you think we would spend £5m on one player:rolleyes:

Yes, but we didn't even have Champion's League money this season. We don't need to spread the money across a whole team now either, just a few quality players. We can afford 5 mill, end of.
