so what i read here is the fear of an rich arab * or whatever rich *, to buy up Celtic.
    I would hate that aswell!

To make a move like this i would hope we will have our integrity intact, and not be sold for "30 pieces of silver". But what say we will?

Despite the finances that these diddy clubs in England have, football is 11 v 11 at the end of the day. Do things properly and we can still compete with them. It's not the end of the world especially when you see the way in which some of them spend it.

I certainly wouldn't take as great an interest in Celtic if we got access to the English leagues. I wouldn't want to become another soulless entity like the ones we see today. At least the players that play for us and the fans that attend the games do so because of who we are and what we represent, not because we're part of some elitist group.

Also, I cringe so much any time I hear a foreign player's interview after signing for Tottenham, West Ham, Watford etc. "It's a dream to be in the Premier League". "I have worked so hard to play in such a top league".

Not a * mention of the club or the fans they have just signed for :smiley-laughing002:

Even Joe Ledley who is British didn't mention a thing about Crystal Palace when he signed. It was all about the league. I would be embarrassed if I supported a club and a player came out praising the rest of the league and didn't mention one positive about the club he has dedicated the next 4 years to :smiley-laughing002:

Yes. The competition for top four down there is as fierce as it's ever been. There's nothing to say that even with their spending power we can enjoy the kind of success and access to European football that this club deserves.

More likely we would plod around like Liverpool, Spurs, Everton - maybe occasionally breaking into the top four and perhaps one year winning the League.

It's ridiculous to think that Celtic would 100% go down there and dominate like Man Utd have over the past 20 years, or like we dominate up here. Green tinted spectacles stuff.

I'd much rather see us compete in a European League of some sort. Even if we didn't dominate that we'd be at the true top table rather than cannon fodder for the English top four.
