    I agree that Sammy is probably quite welcoming to the younger guys, also to be fair he is a world cup starting striker, which even though it's for Greece, its still impressive.

    He also has the whole star look thing going on :87: :84:

    he looks worth a punt too and poor sammy gets it in the neck all the time but he never hides and yeah hes far from perfect but ffs for the money we paid for him who was expecting 30 goals per season ?

    Only if he was Scottish and hadn't a clue.

    Otherwise he would simply recognise that Samaras is the biggest international star in our team by a distance. :50:

    On the other hand, he'd certainly be doubled up with laughter if a young Jamaican starlet told him he he'd been thrilled to meet the internationally-renowned Scott Brown. :56:

    Greece is ranked 12 in the world and Sammy is a fixture for them.

    Sweden is 32, Mexico 28, Honduras 52, Israel 36.

    So Sammy is the player we have with the best international team and is their starting striker

    Don't think your understanding what he is saying.

    Sweden's highest ranking when we had Larsson ( and Mjallby ) was 13, and were a really strong side, but thats irrelevant at the moment, because what he is saying, is Samaras is our most prestigous player. He is a starting striker for his country, and out of all the internationals in Celtic, Samaras belong's to the highest ranked ( Greece ). So in theory, yes, he is probably a well recognised face( after all, he's played in World Cups, and European Championships, how much exposure do they get? Not to mention the premiership with Man City ), but that doesnt neccesarily mean he is our "best" player, he is more so just more internationally known, rather than somebody likeMark Wilson, or even the likes of Joe Ledley

    Christian Ronaldo has played with 2 of the biggest teams in the world, and is world famous as a marketing object, so its a bit different.

    Who would be more easier to name if you went for a trial with a football team; an internationalist from Belarus, or an internationalist from Italy?

    It's all about exposure.
