It is a quote that should excite all Celtic fans when it comes to their new Bhoy Sead Haksabanovic.

Haksabanovic was one of the new faces lured to the Scottish champions by Ange Postecoglou before the transfer deadline as the A-Leagues legend attempts to balance a title defence with a mouth-watering UEFA Champions League campaign.

Celtic had a glimpse of the Sweden-born Montenegro international winger in action after the former Rubin Kazan attacker came off the bench for a 14-minute cameo in the midweek Scottish League Cup success at Ross County.

As Haksabanovic and Celtic prepare for Saturday’s blockbuster Glasgow derby against fierce rivals Rangers, Montenegro head coach Miodrag Radulovic gave supporters an idea of what to expect from the 18-time international.




It is a great opportunity for him to be at the big club, with such great history and tradition and that opportunity came in the right moment for him,” Radulovic told KEEPUP.

“He will have chance to show great potential that he has and to improve himself from match to match. Beside from playing in Scottish Premiership he will have even greater stage to perform – playing in UEFA Champions League against toughest teams in Europe and players on top level will be a big challenge.

“I’m sure that playing for Celtic in all competitions would be a great benefit for Sead and for the club but also for the national team of Montenegro.”



Haksabanovic – with searing pace, outstanding technical ability and vision and an eye for goal – earned a big move to Russian club Rubin Kazan in 2021. IFK Norrkoping had described it as their biggest ever sale.

The 23-year-old, who was signed by Premier League side West Ham as a teenager having become the second-youngest player in in Allsvenskan league history in April 2015, made 23 appearances for Rubin – including two in the Europa Conference League.

However, his contract was temporarily suspended due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It prompted him to return to Sweden via Djurgardens IF until June 2022.

During his brief time with Djurgardens, Haksabanovic scored twice in 11 appearances.




Sead is technically gifted player and the way he controls the ball is impressive,” he added.

“He plays with both feet and sometimes it is impossible to say is he right or left footed. He has speed, is quick on reaction and he can change rhythm of the play with his performances.

And on top of all he is extremely good in one on one situations. I’m sure that fans at Celtic Park will enjoy his performance every single time he runs onto the field of play.

Definitely think Jota for Sead was a planned change if not for the enforced subs like you said. Can't imagine Ange would have wanted Jota to see out the game otherwise.

I think we will see him enter the arena tomorrow night as a sub 25min to go and he’ll rip the place up with his running and directness he could be the difference that stops RM finishing strong. Am nervous and excited in equal measure for tomorrow

I think we might see Sead from the start on Saturday and looking forward to it. He looked sharp against Ross County when he came on and ready made to play in an Ange team.

Quick, good on the ball and hard working both in and out of possession.
