Only the polis would be stumbling block there. Stewards and kiosk workers are ready to go at a moments notice.

    Edit.

    30,000-40,000 for a Fifth Round match-up? That's pretty * good.

    C'mon, Celtic!

Gives the people that actually go and support the team a better chance of a ticket if we get to the final. No doubt the usual moans when people can't get one that didn't turn up to earlier rounds.

Samaras: We're set for the Dons in Scottish Cup clash

By: Kenny McKay on 07 Feb, 2014 11:31
BOTH on and off the park, Georgios Samaras has earned a reputation as a player who can be called on to perform on the big occasions and, as the Hoops look ahead to a crucial Scottish Cup encounter with Aberdeen this Saturday, one exciting domestic match in particular often springs to mind.

In a tense encounter at Paradise in March of last year, the Dons had recovered from Kris Commons´ early strike to score three goals in the second half, much to the shock of the home support.

Just after the hour mark, the Celtic manager Neil Lennon made the decision to throw on the Celtic No.9 in what turned out to be a game-changing decision.

Having clawed their way back to level the game, thanks to goals from Gary Hooper and Charlie Mulgrew, a 94th-minute overhead kick from Samaras spectacularly sealed the points for the Hoops and sent the Paradise faithful into wild celebrations.

Now, almost a year on, Sammy admits he is still asked about the goal and that he is looking forward to the test an in-form Aberdeen side will bring.

Speaking to the official matchday programme for this Saturday´s Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park, the striker said: “It was an amazing end to a game and I will always remember it, but this game will be much different.

"It will be a really tough one because Aberdeen are enjoying some really good form too. They play good football and have some really dangerous players that we have to be wary of.

"To their credit they don´t just defend when we play them. They try to create and score goals but what is important is that we are the cup holders. We need to make sure that we win this because it is our cup.

“We know we have to be ready both physically and mentally and I know we will be."

Maybe a wee hint that he will be starting :fear::fear::fear:

Sammy should be nowhere near the first team if he isn't staying here. We have players still trying to find their feet at Celtic who need the game time.

It is quite clearly a joke. You should stay off the Aberdeen forums :smiley-laughing002:

Shame the place is only going to be half full. I think it'll be a good game.

    My first game in ages.

Agree with this. We need to look after our own progression with the next year in mind. Thumb will no doubt get game time but I would like to see Balde start to get a bit more football between now and the end of the season.
