It's not shameful to say he's a beautiful man.

Not in the slightest, infact I'd go as far as to say he is quite stunning.

Wasn't expecting that reply, and to be fair i wasn't expecting Sinclair to score a brace in a CL play off either...

I'll praise players when it's due mate, and Sinclair for sure earned his tonight. He's basically just set up our season for us. Showed exactly why Brendan brought him to the club tonight, I had no doubts about his ability domestically, it was in Europe I was questioning his consistency, but tonight he showed he can rise to the occasion.

Hopefully once Dembele is back fit and we sign Roberts (Hopeful on that) and with Rogic also there Sinclair takes his game to heights that not even he could have imagined. This season in Europe has that very special feeling about it, Brendan is building something we all need to cherish here in the very moment.

Serious question: Is he in contention for an England call-up? He's shown he can perform in high pressure European games, he'd be great as a bench option for them IMO.

Not watched the BT Coverage yet but I was hoping Lineker, Sutton or Gerrard may have discussed it at some point but it doesn't appear so.

He would need to score a brace against a PSG or something or maybe score 4/5 goals in the CL Groups imo to be in with a shout. Which is harsh when you see some of the * that get called up like Jake Livermore.

GOAL-HERO Scott Sinclair hailed Celtic’s stunning 5-0 victory over FC Astana in the UEFA Champions League play-offs as a tremendous team performance.

The 28-year-old bagged a brilliant brace for the Bhoys, scoring in either half with composed finishes, as they ran riot against the Kazakh champions in Pardise.

An own-goal from Evgeni Postnikov own goal and Sinclair’s first of the evening put Brendan Rodgers’ side in command at the interval.

Sinclair made it 3-0 on the hour-mark, before strikes from James Forrest and Leigh Griffiths sent the Hoops into dreamland in the closing stages, leaving the Scottish treble-winners on the brink of the group stages of the competition ahead of next week’s second-leg in Kazakhstan.

Speaking after the game, the winger said: “It was unbelievable. It was a great team performance and a lot of people are asking me if it was an easy game, but there is no easy games and we only made it look like that by the way we played.

“We were strong at the back, we kept possession. In the first 10-15 minutes of the game we could have done a little bit better, but once we started getting into the game and scored.

"It was great to get the goal at the end of the first half before going into the changing room and listen to the manager speak and we went out there with confidence and ready to perform again

“We stepped on the pitch and we wanted to make sure we won the game and not concede. We were strong at the back and now the main thing is we have a nice cushion going over to the second-leg, which was definitely important.”

Delighted to have made a telling contribution on the big stage for Celtic, Sinclair is now focused on helping the Hoops complete the job next week in Astana.

“This is the game and competition where I need to step my game up, and like all the team, I did that tonight, and I’m looking forward to the second leg," he said.

“What a competition to be in. When I came here, I said this is the inspiration for you as a player - you want to be in the Champions League and playing the best teams in Europe when you qualify, and we have one foot in the door.

“We have one more game to and once we hopefully put that game to bed, we can look forward to the group stages.”

Tom Rogic was one of many fantastic performers for the Bhoys, with his mazy run creating Celtic’s opening goal and his glancing header creating Sinclair’s second of the night.

The Australian internationalist took a sore blow to his head in the move, which saw him leave the field, and Sinclair was full of praise for his colleague.

“He asked did you score and I said, yeah!” said the wide-man. “But he’s fine, he’s alright. He’s a great player. He finds space so well as a player and he sees things, getting assists and creating the first goal. He was great."
