    In two minds over this one. Would need to see how he coped during the trial. Plenty of better targets we could go after to improve the squad than Mcdonald.

    Didnt say he wouldn't score in Europe, just think we would need a big target man to play with him

    I mind he hated playing with Samaras ! Wonder if that would change given Samaras' new form and role in the team.

    Was impressed with McDonald's work rate here, especially in the last two seasons.

    If he impresses in pre-season why not? He scored a lot of goals for us and is a Celtic fan too.

    Anyway, McDonald could still do a job for Celtic. I really liked him here regardless of what he done on THAT day so he'd be deserving of a trial. Should never have got rid of him when we did.

    I'd take him back only if it meant keeping Hooper, Stokes, Watt and Samaras.

    By no means should he be replacing any of them.

    I'm in Middlesbrough on the odd occasion so know a few Boro fans, they all seem to rate Skippy.

    Saying that, they also liked Willo Flood when he was there so read into that what you will.

    Haven't seen him play in years, but his record in the Championship with Boro is pretty decent. Worth consideration, at least.

    * that

    We already have better strikers than him and we need to keep improving on that. Would be a very backwards step

    Although I didn't like him, he did do a good job for us. I agree with people that say he should never have been sold to begin with, that was yet another Tony Mowbray destruction job, but taking him back now, would be a step in the wrong direction I think.

    McDonald was brilliant with us but it's a no from me. Don't see the point on signing the same player again. Time to move on.

    At 29 years old and on a freebie why the * not? He was brilliant up here and shouldn't have been sold when he was..

    Plus he scored one of my favorite goals against them
