Forgave him long ago, he was just an scapegoat for our failngs. Our loss against Hibs the weeks before was even more of a failure. I've been chuffed with him since the day he signed and he's proving to be a massive hit.
He at the end of the day did his job, which alot of people in the green and white hoops that day failed to do and let us all down, not McDonald.
To the man who highlighted the Rangers thing, it was just because he thought it might have been his only offer out of a small club to a big club like Rangers and away from Malpas and Motherwell, simple as.
He can kiss the badge all he wants, he's a celtic fan trough and through to me and should always be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Canny believe some people voted no. He set up Hartley's goal in Moscow, scored the one at CP, scored all three against UTD last week and the winner against the european champs. What more do people want?!

You've highlighted a sentence from a tabloid journalists pen not Scott McDonald :87:

I know for a fact he is a Celtic fan, there's no ambiguity involved here, he's idolised us all his life the pictures of him as a boy getting his picture taken in a Celtic top are real and that's that.

so what? It's his word against hers. my brother's mate's working friend told me some other (negative) rumours as well.

BBC is a reasonable source and only because some users say "oh no, I know for a fact", that ain't enough to change my attitude.

(just check out the rumours threads where everybody knew for a fact that we would get players x,y,z.... unfortunately we got neither of em.)

You seem to be skimming over the crux of what i'm trying to say here so i'll highlight it...

He is a Celtic fan and always has been.

If you want me to scan in the photo's that were in the Sunday Mail article last month i'll do so when i get home as i still have it somewhere. All of which showing him as a 12 year old bhoy at Parkhead getting his photo taken with his idols wearing a Celtic strip.

I perfectly understood what you wrote, but it's no secret when it's all about the money a footballer suddenly changes his mind. How I said, he wanted to move to ibrox, and if you ask me, a true die hard celt would never want to do that. all of a sudden he stopped supporting the celts and wanted to join their rivals?

Fair enough if he wanted to join the rangers because of the money, I just can't stand his "I have always been a true die hard celt Show" at the moment. How I said, I dislike people changing their minds every 3 mins or liars.

That's how I see it based on the bbc websites and I don't see a single reason why they shouldn't write the truth.

I respect him as a player, but his "true celtic bhoy" show is just pathetic.

mate that was superbly put, seemingly he was close to tears when his move to Rangers fell through and dont forget he was in fine celebratory form after his double for well that day. as a hun keeps telling me in work he could score 50 goals this season including winners against them and it would still never cause them as much pain as he caused us that day! cant take to him bhoys i'm sorry :54:

I voted no, that day at motherwell in the rain is one of my worst memories in my life! I like to view him as a different player now he's a hoop. Childish yes but it helps me! That said i think i have to agree with most posts on this thread, so far he's a pro and he's doing a great job for us! A hatrick against the huns (or just the winner on the 20th) and all is forgiven.

i did still hate him 9slightly irrationally) but not as much as that * sproule in the hibs game before it

I hate blaming players or managers at the club for these things but surely Craig Bellamy could have played that day.. He was perfectly okay to play the Scottish cup final a week later.. And why the * did O'Neil take of Hartson and put on Beattie.. Martin O'Neil already made this mistake in a Champions league match against Bayern Munich when he substituted Hartson for Liam Miller.. Hartson could always hold a ball up as well as anyone and that decision turned a likely 1-0 victory over Bayern into a 2-1 defeat that day.. I actually seen this whole scenario happening when we caved in against Hibs with a few games remianing and then they rubbed salt further into the wounds by playing out the last 20 minutes of their final game on the half way line with Rangers.. Can't fault Mcdonald really.
