Why coz we blew the league and he took advantage?

 

A good sane summary BTW, I cant believe people resent him for doing his job when he knocked us out. What kind of guy would it make him if he deliberately let us win. Would rather have an honest man doing his job than a cheat taking our side. We lost the league cause we had an old tired team. IMO, if it had not been for the bellamy loan, Rangers would have wrapped it up a month earlier.

 

It annoies me how people use the excuse for not wanting McDonald by saying 'he cost us the League'. He didn't cost us the League! There are 38 Games in a SPL Season and he scored two in 1 game because of * poor defending which so happened to be the decider. If it had of been Rangers in our position that day I guarentee you that the majority of yous would want him, Bad Footballer or not! You could just look back at the Season and in a draw or whatever we had and someone missed a good chance say he cost us the league because if he scored we wouldv'e won the match and the League. Does no-one remember how Agathe cleared one of the line etc that day? We didn't play particually well.

You should stop looking back at that Season I know it hurts but the facts are there that it was the Last time Rangers won the League which should be something to laugh about that the last two times they have won it has been Goal Difference of by 1 Point! We should be looking to the Future and not to the past and who knows if McDonald comes he could have a great future at the club!

Now don't get me wrong I don't partically see the benefit in this signing as I have stated earlier in the Thread, a Medicore Lower Table SPL Player I think it was I said and I stand by that but I am judging McDonald by his Footballing Skills not by how he 'cost us the League' two Seasons ago. I will like every other Celtic player who walks onto that pitch give him a chance. I don't think many of you can say you give Naylor a chance when he first came! Sometimes they work sometimes they don't just hopefully this one will work.

I think we aren't going forward if we keep looking for players like mcdonald. We have reached the last 16 of the champs league, dominated the league, we are clearly the big number in scotland! no need to mention desmond ain't a poor bassa either and with the cl league money plus the leaving player's wages, we are in a very good financial shape. I'm fully aware of the fact we won't be able to get players like Riquelme or Messi, but Nakamura, Boruc and VoH are clearly at least 2 levels better than a player like mcdonald. I also agree with a few of you, there are good players playing for weaker teams like Naylor, but the opposite is the case as well, Miller. That's why I say we can't afford to hope for a miracle again (everybody knew Miller was not a regular goalscorer, but though we hoped he would turn out to be one).
If we want to improve and especially win some games in europe we have to aim for players like nakamura and VoH. As an ambitious celtic supporter a move for mcdonald would really disappoint me.

Don't worry, there are men working for this club whose job is looking for these kind of players. they are getting paid only for their search, so I dare to expect something.

At the end of the day, I'd rather spend a wee fortune one a proven player than a smaller one on 3-4 flop players.

 

Fail to see what all the furor is about, as its been said we have spent more on bigger names and it didnt work out.
One thing and I am sure most are aware if we take McDonald from Motherwell it elimates him from harming us, or if he went to Rangers then we could get bit in the * that happened with Nach Novo!
I say McDonald to me looks more effective than, Zurawski, Miller, and Jarosik, and possobly Beattie, and in that I have NO fear of contradiction!

My whole problem with this is the seeming acceptance by the manager and some of the fans that we have to focus on average SPL players cos we have no money blah blah blah.Untrue
This squad player argument i don't get either,ok we might sign another quality striker to play with Jan fair dues what happens when 1 of them gets injured.There has to be quality to replace quality not an average player replacing proven talent.

It represents accepting average as good enough for Celtic football club which is never right in my book
