not one for causing alarm.....but while we show our inspiration in signing a 2nd rate striker in the shape of macdonald(total cost cutting exercise!!!) walter diddyheid smith was in N.I.casting his eye over 'proven' international striker healy.
hope our board are not gonna f**k things up again by not showing 'ambition'!
strachan wee man less of this [IMG] and gees something to lookforward to in the summer!

I'm not buying into all this give him a chance *. I've seen enough of him to know that he is not going to take us forward in anyway whatsoever. Its just that wee * strachan trying to * me off!!

McDonald is a better striker than Beattie & Miller. So I dont know what some people are complaining about. The opportunity to sign a proven UCL striker probably wont represent itself until the summer anyways.

I dont care if he nearly signed for Rangers, his ambition is play at a higher level. I dont hold that against him.

People are, once again, freaking out over nothing major.

    Good point :50: .

A bit of level-headedness never goes amiss.

Ok, McDonald ain't setting the world alight but I hear the guy's only 23, he is better than Miller and Beattie and the more I think about this the more positive I become. He's no bad.

Could just be a good foil for VOH. Positivity folks.:celt_2:

I hated the wee * at the time, but at the end of the day he was doing the job he was being paid to do. H e has scored several times against us since signing at Motherwell, which is always the sign of a good player; one who does well in the big games.
He is a young player, comfortable with the ball at his feet an a good physique. Also he has a particularly low centre of gravity, somewhat Maloneyesque, which makes him a difficult player to disposess. His age is a very positive factor for us, and if he does well the potential sell on value - he has recently gained international recognition with a country performing far better than our own - could be substantial. He is very difficulat to mark, and is a busy striker, one i have never felt particularly comfertable against.
He scores goals, and surely a goal average of one in 3 for a provincial club could become greater at a club such as Celtic. Who at our club has scored better than 1/3 this season, perhaps JVoH and he has been unfit most of the time. Scott McDonald could score 1 per 2 games for Celtic, a very acceptable record for me in comparision to the ridiculous level of finishing we are having to put up with now.
At £750,000, he has not been signed as back up. Players such as Doumbe and Pressley, with their lack of transfer fee, have clearly been signed for this purpose in the past, which the January transfer window seems to be the main reason for. The real business is done in the summer, and i feel that the striking department at Celtic is to be thoroughly gutted this summer, and the possibility of a little and large partnership of JVoH and SMcD could be on the horizon
