If he goes he wouldn't go until the end of the season. I imagine Brown is awaiting taks with Celtic's next boss first.

ABERDEEN have offered Scott Brown a two-year player-coach deal.

SunSport revealed incoming Dons boss Stephen Glass was set to bring in the Celtic captain as his No 2.

Pittodrie chiefs now hope to finalise an ambitious pre-contract deal for Brown in the coming days.

Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack has sanctioned a two-year deal for the former Scotland captain, who turns 36 in June.

Brown is set to play a crucial role off the pitch as former Hibs team-mate Glass’ right-hand man in a new management team.

The veteran midfielder will also be given the chance to prolong his playing career for another two seasons at Pittodrie.

Brown has a one-year contract on the table from Celtic — who still hope he will perform a U-turn and extend his 14-year stay at Parkhead.

But uncertainty over his role under the next Hoops manager has led the Celts’ legend to start looking elsewhere.

Brown has lifted 22 trophies in his Parkhead career, and is the player who has made the most appearances in Europe for the club.

However, his time at Celtic looks set to end, and barring a last-minute change of heart, Brown is set to team up with close pal Glass at Aberdeen next season.

Yesterday, Glass vowed to roll back the years and make Aberdeen a force in Glasgow once again.

The new Dons boss will take over when the post-split fixtures are played early next month after winning the race to replace Derek McInnes.

Glass grew up in an era when Aberdeen were a force to be reckoned with and legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson urged chairman Dave Cormack to find a gaffer who could stick it to the Old Firm.

Glass, who will bring in Celtic skipper Scott Brown as no2 this summer, reckons he’s just the man.

Think it’s a great move for him tbh if he decides to take it. Finish out this season with us then still have a bit part season of playing ball next season and start playing his trade coaching. He’s been an absolute credit to the club.

Hes still more than good enough to play for Aberdeen. He's not as quick as he was but he's no Josh Thompson, even now. Although I agree, didnt want to see him playing for anyone else.

Love the guy but I think he'd be mad to turn down that sort of deal, he can continue playing and get his coaching badges at the same time.

Man that stings to read that :54:

It’s been a long time since I’ve supported my club and he wasn’t a part of it, what a journey we’ve been on with him.

Iconic legend. Always welcome at Celtic.

So sad that it’s unlikely we’ll get to give him a proper goodbye at Paradise.

I’m not normally one for cheering ex-players when they visit Parkhead with their new club, but I hope we make an exception for Broonaldo!

Absolute legend, been so iconic in the past 10 years. It will feel very weird not having him around. First Lustig, now Brown, it makes me sad to see such influential characters move on. But every dog has its day. It's time.

Can't imagine him in Aberdeen's colours. Imo he's finished as a player, but I never want to see him play against us. That's some earth-shattering * right there.

Legendary career all things considered. Every dog had his day. Thank you for the memories.
