Face doesnt fit. Aggressive, neddy, east coast * skinhead with a suspected Rangers background. think its subconcious but I think its a factor. People have even sworn on this site to have personally seen dodgy tatoos on him that photos have since disproved. Why would you do that? why would you make up stuff if you didnt already have some gut dislike of the guy? You really would have to ask them. I am not saying all critics are like that. I respect people who try to constructively criticise him like Hammer and Paul 67 but some people just name call at Broony. He does have his flaws which are fair to criticise but he is very heavily scrutinised by some fans that makes it feel like they are almost willing him to fail. In some ways the attitude to Broony as a player reminds me of the attitude to Strachan as a manager by an element of our fans.

He was both good and bad today, usual scurrying self, good hassling, but poor passing at times again, i remember a pass he tried to give to either hooper or forrest who was 2 yards from him and he passed it to a st.mirren player!

Good goal though to rap the game up, 7/10 performance, if he improved his passing he could be so much better.

Stokes is a decent player. Nothing more. You've got to be realistic.

He was rank when he came on today bar the nice set-up for Hooper. Lost the ball every time he got it.

He did. I have kept a count of broony's bad passes for his last 5 or so games. His first pass that didnt reach a teammate was pretty well on the 80th minute mark - a really bad short pass to the right touchline. His second was a pass towards the centre circle (think it was to a striker facing our goal) that was intercepted. That was the sum total. The last few games he has averaged maybe 3 bad passes. His bad passing seems to amount to an average of 3 compared to maybe 1 or 2 by the best passers. My count seem to show that his passing has been pretty good. He also is on the ball a lot, much more prominent that some other MFs. He doesnt pass as good as Kayal who is a 100%er but other than him Broony is not much worse than any others.

Disagree, but I do agree on the Strachan front.

Thought that was addressed at me for a minute and was about to go off on one! I actually think Stokes has been superb this season (other than last week when he had some problems that affected him). He has come on a heap and is a much better all-round player this season.

I must have been watching a different game to a lot of people. I found him as frustrating as anyone else until the lay off for Forrest, which was excellent.

His goal was also quality, and also gave me deja vu! But still.. wasn't that impressed. If I hadn't watched the game and seen 1 assist and 1 goal, I would have pressumed he was excellent, but in reality, he wasn't.

Yeah I've been watching him too as people on here keep going on about him :97: I though he was better in the first half...always up for it and chasing everything. * he's at least * mobile for 90 minutes. I think he gets far too much criticism on here as he might not set the heather on fire but I would still rather he played for us :50: That goal was the old Brooney and I hope that he does that more often as that would make up for any slack passing :86: He's really no worse than anyone else when it comes to passing as they all have a few bad passes over the game. Time to leave the lad alone and support him as the team captain :50:

The assist and goal were class but he just doesn't look properly fit to me, he's lost all the pace and drive that he had begun to show. He looks as if his legs are heavy alot of the time. Maybe just yet to get his sharpness back.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Brown played well today? For me he pulled out of far too many challenges and never seemed to choose the right option, particularly second half. Apart from the goals of course. I like Brown and think some of the criticism he gets is very unfair, he's a good player, but for me he just didn't seem at the races today. But then the entire team seemed a little lacklustre.

he did good today even without that goal but i think to give him the starter on the right wing is just not right

Thought he played very well today, his goal was a carbon copy of his goal against rangers last season.
