Scott Brown's biggest asset on the ball is the way he can twist and turn without, he can turn very fast on the ball. He is strong in possesion and he is quite fast.

The thing with Scott Brown on the right for me is it totally depends on the left winger going up as an ad hoc striker, so we have three in the middle. Yesterday Samaras clung to the wing, very rarely did he go up to support Hooper or Stokes. Which forced Brown to stay out wide right where he isn't the best, when he is able to stay in the middle to in a kind of 3 man midfield is when he is at his best for me.

Yesterday wasn't his best game, on the ball but he did win back possesion a shitload of times and offered a lot of protection from the shaky Adam Matthews.

your now describing his playing ability (which forces,:56: realy, when its not his best) , what position has he been given, all along.:87: how come he cost us £5mil, and there are laddies giving him the run around every week.

Let's be honest, he didn't cost £5 million nor does he get the runaround often. He just isn't technically very good at football.

im not a brown hater ...but for me ..ledley and keyal definatley go in centre mid before brown....cant understand why if lenny must play brown he does,nt go to a five midfield....we,ve got the wing-backs...at least give it a go ..but in saying that if we keep winning ..why mend what does,nt need fixing...but brown is ok ..i think keyals more of a captain ..you see him shouting and cajouling players unlike brown

Brown does my head in. Actually the fact that Brown will likely keep either Forrest/Sammy/Stokes does my head in. :31:

The best players dont always make the best teams. Brown has his faults no doubt. His passing can be really slack at times. But we definitely seem to be more effective when he is in the side. Certainly down the right hand side of midfield, which I think is his best position.

He seems to have the respect of the players in the side as well.

Difficult to put a finger on what he adds to the team, but when he isnt in it, he seems to be missed.

With Kayal being missed, which is a bigger blow than many seem to think, I feel that Broonys presence is gonna be vital for us the second half of the season.

The way i see the midfield in terms of order of who should start first is this:
    Kayal>Wanyama>Ledley/Ki>Brown

Kayal and wanyama should be almost definite starter in most games, then its a fight between Ki and ledley and then brown to be honest is the last on the list of centre mids.

Can't believe the Brown debate is still raging after all these years, imo it's plain to see that we overpaid for him, he's a grafter and I'll never doubt for a second that he gives 100% for us, but he's still just a very limited footballer, how anyone can rate him higher than our other midfield options just baffles me.

With a fully fit squad he's simply not a starter, Kayal and Wanyama are better defensively, Ledley is a better all rounder, Ki is better creatively, Forrest is a much bigger threat on the right...half the time it just looks like he's been shoehorned into the side because he's captain.
