I don't see how he played awful yesterday. Thought in the first half he was one of our better players. Kept the ball moving, and kept us ticking along nicely. Second half not many players got pass marks, but it wasn't as if anyone had a shocker. Think Brown is getting a bit of unfair stick after yesterday. Played good in the first half, not so good in the second.

Ledley was dreadful yesterday. Don't see any threads on him though.

Because Ledley is consistant as *, why the * would you want a thread critisising Joe Ledley?

I don't want any threads criticizing our players when the team are on a 12 game winning run.

Ledley is very consistent at times because he doesn't make a lot of mistakes, but he never puts himself into an advanced position where you are viable to either make a mistake or produce a moment of brilliance. For me Ledley at times does flatter to deceive, whereas brown we all know has his deficiencies but he always puts his body on the line and keeps trying to pass the ball even though he couldn't pass a ball 10 yards yesterday.

He doesn't out himself in an advanced position? Outside of Ki he's our midfielder whose scored the most goals. Genuinely baffled at what people see at our games sometimes.

Wouldn't say he was dreadful either.

He doesn't enough, a corner is not getting yourself into an advanced position as that is a set play. Ive said for many months Ledley needs to be more ambitious with his passing as well as getting into the box more. He is far too conservative at times. Yesterday he provided almost nothing from midfield that wanyama didn't already provide.

We are criticizing brown who was both below bar and decent at times yesterday. What i am trying to say is that Brown tried to push Celtic forward and keep us on the front foot, whether he achieved in that respect is irrelevant.

Ledleys scored one goal from a corner this year, the rest of them has been getting into a forward position. I love what joe Ledley brings to our midfield, good possesion with composed passing. He fed in Izzy and Samaras on numerous occasions yesterday.

Right ill accept that, yet would you say he played better than Brown yesterday? In my opinion while brown was a perfect example of jekyll and hyde he did more in the game than ledley did. Of course this thread is not about ledley so i don't want to get too focused on that part.

In the second half to be honest the entire midfield went a bit awol.

I think he did yes. Broony was * dreadful yesterday and I'm a massive fan of him, excellent off the ball but on it he was a man short.

He would have scored if not for Stokes being in greedy * mode though.

Spot on. Kayal, Brown and Wanyama should be our three midfielders playing behind Commons, Forrest and Hooper or Stokes or somebody better than them.

Thought Brown looked likely to score yesterday is Stokes hadn't gotten in his way. Thought he played quite well yesterday bar a couple of times where he should have passed earlier than he did.

Best thing about Ledley is that he can do a job at LB. I much prefer Ki as a player as well.

The problem with Brown is that Lenny is trying to shoehorn him into a team that was starting to have a really balanced look about it.

So now that Brown is back it's either Forrest on the left where he is totally wasted or putting Brown in CM where he is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

There is no place for the captain in my starting 11, even with Kayal injured.

You should never be able to say that about a Celtic captain but it's true.

    spot on mate.
See if anything, Ledley gets himself into positions but gets overlooked.
All last season I seen him bursting his hole to get into the box and players would either pass out wide or pass back where Joe wanted a through ball. He's a step above pretty much everyone at Celtic and we're lucky to have such a class entity at our club.:50:

Both our good run after Xmas last year and our good run in the last wee while have coincided with Broony being in the team. Two wingers under Lenny has often failed.

Care to name the games where two wingers failed and who were the two?
