Bolded most interesting part for me. Thinking back, all you used to hear is how he had his career threatened due to his...hip, I wanna say? It definitely didn't seem like he'd be here two years later, a full season without interruption under his belt, and absolutely strolling it. Thank * for Strachan and Rodgers.

Heartfelt congratulations to our Skipper , and Celtic's beating heart , Scott " Broony " Brown on winning the writers player of the year award . Totally deserved in my opinion . WELL DONE !

That * * Craig Levein has a lot to answer for. Seems like ever since his comments about Scott Brown, it's been open season on our captain. His comments have helped to create an environment where players in opposing teams think it's fine to go over the ball or commit assault when tackling Broony. It's * shocking the 'tackles' he's been on the end of in the past few weeks.

The even bigger irony is that Levein's team are the dirtiest shower of * in the division. Pots and kettles spring to mind.

 

What he's had to put up with this season is an absolute stain on the * in Scottish football from top to bottom..

Media making him out to be a thug, manager's and fan's alike..

He got booked today for a tackle where he clearly got the whole ball but McLean kept rolling about everytime Broony tackled him. Then Shinnie does him studs up and receives the same punishment. Fair?

Broony then has a word with Thomson after and Thomson looked at him like a piece of * on his shoes and walked past..

It's a disgrace that for about the last 10 game's, he's probably had 7 red card disgraceful/potential career enders on him. How many have been rightfully red carded, 2? There's been more before the last 10 as well but I'm just guessing on when that creepy specky rapist highlighted him..

Something has to be done. Either Lawwell or Brendan going apeshit or we have to have retribution ourselves which will be punished each time you can bet your life on it..

The media disgust me. Morelos goes around kicking and pelting people 10 time's a game but it's just the way he plays, yet player's need protection from Broony and not 1 person outwit Celtic has ever stuck up for him. A Scotland captain for year's who they all respect supposedly throughout our game..

SCOTT Brown has hailed manager Brendan Rogers after the Celtic skipper picked up yet another personal accolade this season today in the form of the Ladbrokes Premiership Player of the Year trophy.

The 32-year-old’s latest award saw him complete a clean sweep of all the all individual player awards available to him in the current campaign.

His incredibly consistency over the past 12 months has seen him scoop the PFA Scotland Player of the Year and Scottish Football Writers’ Player of the Year gongs, while he also collected a treble of awards at Celtic’s annual Player of the Year night, including the prestigious Player of the Year prize

And speaking to the media at the club’s Lennoxtown training base, the captain has put his stellar season purely down to the positive influence of Brendan Rodgers.

“Every single bit of it,” he said. “I spoke the other day about Gordon Strachan helping me out but Brendan has been outstanding since he has come came in.

“The bond between the two of us is very tight and we get on very well on and off the park. He wants everyone to push to new levels. He’s a very honest person and he tells you sometimes and you don’t always like it, but honesty is the best policy and he’s just trying to make the game up here better.”

Brown has led the Celts to two trophies already this season, including a seventh successive championship, and he would love to cap it off with victory over Motherwell in Saturday’s Scottish Cup final at Hampden, which would see the Hoops seal an unprecedented double treble.

“This season has been fantastic,” he said. “To get all these awards is much appreciated but for myself, it’s all about winning games and trophies and we’ve done that so far. We have one push left. It’s been a long season, with 61 games after this one, so it will be good to get a little bit of a rest as well.

“Last season was exceptional, going through the league as invincibles and getting the treble. But we have this one big push left and to do the double treble would be incredible.”

When Brendan Rodgers took over as manager in May 2016, he advised Brown to forgo coaching with the Under-20s to focus full on his playing career – and the results have been spectacular, with the midfielder in the form of his life over the past two years.

“It was definitely the right decision,” said Brown. “At the time, I was coaching the U20s as well and not getting back to games until after games until half 12 or one in the morning, and then being in here early in the morning for training, and that was going on five or six days a week, training and doing the games.

“It’s quite hard on your body and not being home and seeing the kids as well. It gave me more time to focus on the training ground and get myself as fit as I possibly could and not worry about coaching or doing my 'A' or 'B' licence. I’ll have plenty of time after I retire to go and do coaching or whatever I want.

“Now it’s all about concentrating on playing football as long as I possibly can with a smile on my face.

“What lies ahead? To keep winning leagues and trophies at this club and keep playing as long as I possibly can. I have a lot of ambitions and one was to come to Celtic and to win trophies, and I managed to do that and I’m still doing that now.

“That’s why I came to the club in the first place, to win games and to play against the best players in the world in the Champions League and I’ve had that opportunity. Once you get that, you keep wanting it and next season will be the exact same.”

“I will take it one year at a time. For myself and everyone in that dressing room, you never know what can happen in football. I might not be playing here in three years time so I just have to enjoy the one we’ve had just now and take that on board and come back next season as fit as I possibly can and look forward to trying to win eight-in-a-row.”

SB: "He’s one of the best left-backs I’ve ever played with in terms of his energy levels and his willingness to learn. He’s also at the right place at the right time for his career as he’s got a great manager, he’s winning trophies and he also loves this club.”


SB: “My memories are amazing of Tommy [Burns]. He always put a smile on my face and he made me come to this club. He was the man that done it. To know him as a friend and just to be able to speak to a man who was top quality and loved this club."


SB: “I was at an association awards dinner and Rosemary was still there and she always has that little smile on her face, and you know why Tommy loved her and she loved Tommy as the two of them were a match made in heaven.”
