The fact that he captained an invincible treble winning team is just about enough in itself.

If you'd tell me at the end of Deila's last season that Scott Brown would still be our most important player I'd have gone daft at you. Admittedly we didn't know about his injuries but I genuinely thought he was done. Silly fouls, slow as *, legs not working like they used to, constant sideway passes with Bitton (jeez what a snoozer of a midfield pairing that was).

Since BR has came in he's been absolutely immense. I can only think of one game where he was poor and that was at Tynecastle when we won the league. We're a different animal without him in the team driving us forward.

Don't know how long Broony has left in the tank, but I can see him kicking about on the bench in the 10IAR year ala Tom Boyd in O'Neill's treble season.

If he captains us to the 10 then he needs to be classed as an all time great in my opinion.

Think the term Legend should be saved for those once in a lifetime players like Jinky, Larsson etc though.

    Was my motm today..

His levels of restraint are incredible now. He's captain and receiving special treatment from Paton with elbows and a few late challenges, as well as watching his teammates succumb to the same and he get's up and play's excellently..

Cruised it. Time and again picking up the ball and driving with it. Filling in hole's that gave them nothing..

Brilliant player. I actually wouldn't mind him taking a red for ending Paton's career soon..

    Was excellent again today.
Our only outfield player not to have a shot - but he absolutely bossed the middle of the park.
Amazed that he didn't leave one on Paton in the last 2 minutes. Mind you, they hardly had the ball for the last 20 minutes!
Let's hope that he can keep this going for a few more seasons.

As fit as he's ever been.

Will without doubt be here for 10.

    Definitely a legendary Celtic player.

    In fact, it's unquestionable!

SB: "A great honour to captain this side & play in front of our fans, who have been phenomenal from the 1st game all the way to the 63rd."

SB: "The lads in the squad have been fantastic."

SB: "We have dug out 63 games, and we have played some great games and some not so great."

SB: "But it’s the ones you don’t play well that shows the lads’ fight and willingness to win."

SB on maintaining the standard despite the frequency of games: “That’s why we have a great squad."

SB: "The gaffer chops and changes it but today it was the same team from Bayern Munich."

SB: "It’s not happened a lot since the gaffer has been in charge as he usually makes one or two changes and makes a change of formation."

SB: "People may have thought we would have been tired but it was the complete opposite – we were looking forward to this game."

SB: "Played a great opponent during the week, pushing ourselves all the way & we can come & do it in an early kick-off again on Saturday."

SB: "About determination, top-quality management & the players being willing to learn.”
