The championship isn't 100mph kick and rush, you get time on the ball that you dont get in scottish football, i think the championship has a lots of quality football in it

When he played for mowbray i thought he looked slow, was getting caught on the ball and was giving the ball away.
Now all that could just have been match sharpness (i think he was coming back from an injury) but it was still happening and that led to him being sold imo

Robson was iMO the perfect SPL CM. Great mix of dig and a great left peg. Very prominant and dominant in the MF. He was everything that Ledley is meant to be. Even now I would rate him as more suited to the SPL than anyone other than maybe Kayal. Its a bit late now but he would have been very useful in the last couple of seasons. Selling him is the worse bit of player moving on business in years. Only the other week I was reading he was playing absolutely brilliant for Boro.

There's a difference between reading that he's been playing brilliant and actually seeing it for yourself though. Robson enjoyed a bit of a peak when he was here but I think Ledley is a better player.

Ledley's more naturally talented but Robson makes up for it with pure desire and grit. I believe Ledley can be the player he was meant to be for us but hasn't looked the same this season since he came back from injury. I have faith in him but.

Im suprised Robson is still showing up well in the Championship. The times ive seen him his legs look totally shot too me (hes never been that fast) but he seems to be on the scoresheet quite often so good luck to him.

The Championship is a lot of route 1 ,kick and rush football IMO. A higher standard than the SPL though. Thats a giving.

Nah the Subbuteo players are more Versatile and can actually control the ball :icon_mrgreen: I think he would fit in better in a "Striker" team (if anyone remembers you actually had to push down the players head to kick the ball) ??? .

The much maligned technical deficiencies of Broony are exaggerated.

Althought its easy to stagnate in this division. I believe if he had went to the EPL he would have been a much better player by now.

Playing against hammer throwers and charlatans every week can strip anyone of their natural technique. A good SPL player and a good footballer are not the same thing.

Barry Robson was much better than him, but perhaps because he was over 30 and signed quite cheaply from Dundee United he never got the plaudits. Would have been a much better captain if we'd kept him too.

We only paid out so much because the huns were after him too and we wanted to show them we could always trump them in the market. Quite funny but the same mentality brought us Loovens at an inflated cost.

As I've said already, it's highly unlikely any EPL team will buy him now unlike maybe a couple of seasons back. Unless stupid big eck still rates him, or Martinez coughs up another 1-2 million on an SPL mediocrity.

yes i would agree with you there, there are loads of teams he could join, there are teams that are not to fussed about league possessions, and there are fans that have never experienced wining cups, or been away to a European game, i think within these teams Brown would flourish. its just at this moment in time we up here, aren't getting spoilt on trophies, as we where once, before we signed Brown,
and as Brown ain't to interested in picking up the pace, we think he will be more suited to the English way.

Scott Brown has no natural technique whatsoever.

This guy is a limited footballer, nothing but a headless chicken.

Robbing the club of a £1million+ a year for doing SFA.

What a depressing thread. Really. He was getting praise one week then one bad week by the whole team and he gets his personal thread again. Thank * most people in the game dont have this weird obsessive dislike for Broony that some of our fans have. He is one of those players where every stray pass is etched into his haters brains but the same people dont record stray passes by the rest of the MF. I have looked into this before and Broony's pass completion stats are as good as anyone else in the Celtic MF. In fact in many games where he has been panned he has hit less bad passes than Ki, ledley etc.

Even though there is some blind hate for Broony on this forum some of it or most of it is justified.

The guys not improved and lacks any real football ability for me.

I'd get rid of him at the first go as we have more gifted players like Kayal, Ledley and Ki in his position.

What does he bring to the team apart from late challenges and petty bookings?

    The guys garbage.

3rd or 4th choice centre mid, shipped out to right mid to fit him in the side but is never a right mid. The team is changed to facilitate him. For me not in the starting 11, the captains armband saves him tho.

    what a ridiculous comment.

"shipped" out to the right to give the team some much needed balance.

the team was changed because when we played 2 wingers we were being over run in MF. were you in hibernation during mowbrays reign?

just a coincidence that after brown came back from injury and we started playing

    brown-kayal-ledley-commons

we played our best football of last season?

    EDIT

if he's 3rd or 4th choice how come we take ledley off for a winger or forward and move brown into CM if we need a goal?

When Brown came back from injury last season he got himself sent off in his first game like a clown.

It was Kayal coming back from injury that shored up the team.
