I suppose it's natural to protect your own players but there was no excuse for that. Not as if the lad had given one of the team a sore one earlier or was throwing himself about.

It was reckless and absolutely pointless. No, the player wasn't hurt but putting a boot near anyone's head, deliberately, is courting a potential injury.

There seems to be a few folk here that wouldn't mind getting a kick/flick to their head by someone whilst doing their job. Brown has been lucky this time perhaps.

A hard tackle is one thing, needlessly kicking out at someone who has already hit the ground and is no threat is completely another. People have seen jail time for less ffs!

Let's not play this behaviour down, as much as we love what Brown brings to the team.

 

Getting it out of the system

Standard was set back when he was deemed innocent. And if any charges are made against Brown then I would expect Celtic to achieve the same result.

As for getting away with the last suspension. The ref made a * of it in the Ross County, easy yellow but he couldn't get the red card out quick enough. Just like he couldn't blow quick enough for the Schalk dive.

 

Is the Scottish authorities investigating it?
