Had a look back at all of my posts in here before I liked your post :fear:

I was quite pleased to find that I have never said a negative word about Broony in any of my posts since 2012.

There have been times during Brown's time here that he's been absolutely woeful. Luckily, there have been times where he has been outstanding. I honestly didn't think he would have turned into the player he has, and certainly never rated him as captain material. Thankfully I was wrong on both counts.

I also never thought of Minty as a sleekit * :84:

Look at the state of people scrambling to see if they've criticised Brown in the past :56:

He's been utter gash at various periods throughout his Celtic career and has been earning a pretty penny the entire time.

I must applaud his attitude because he seems so driven and determined and is very team orientated, doesn't give a monkeys if he gets praise or not - all qualities which I love.

But people are kidding themselves on if they think it's all been rosy. He was great last season but I've seen him have so many poor games in a Celtic shirt, even last week in Norway he had a vintage Brown pass right out the park to nobody.

Aye, there's been times over the years he has been * terrible. Wasn't even a sub the night we beat Barca.

But he's on the back of a really great season, probably his best yet.

He was either injured or suspended. He obviously would have started otherwise, sure he was man of the match in the group opener against Benfica and had a good game away to Spartak as well.

I think it was by far his best season yet.

Never been his biggest fan to be honest, but he's been brilliant for the past year.

Completely agree, mate. He was excellent last season, and I've not rated him as a 'footballer' in the past (though always appreciated his aggression and drive).

Would be great if he asked to play against the team that lined up for the original Rangers in their last game in 2012.

"Vintage Brown pass right out the park to nobody"?

    * off. What about the "Vintage Brown interceptions or the Vintage times he breaks up play"?

I'm so glad he's our second most successful captain. He deserves it. I expect him to take * off the huns, but our own fans?

And yes, there's times he's been *, I'm not denying that. But why focus on it and specifically call a * pass from him "Vintage Brown". * ridiculous.

I've genuinely never understood the criticism against him.

Brown played well in Europe when we had Vic. Imo the best he played in Europe was when vic was there to relieve him of the more withdrawn defensive duties.

No doubt what you're saying about Wanyama is true but a lot would argue that last season was his best in Europe.

I would say last season was probably his most consistent at that level. He was good in pretty much all of the 6 CL games with maybe the exception of Borussia at home where we didn't play great.

X2 but i dont think he has been great the last few games. His passing drives me mental sometimes.

He's been a man down in so many big games it's unreal. The amount of times over the years I've seen him take the safe option and still * it up is unbelievable. Particularly when we're chasing a game. Particularly in big games.

He had a great season last year and I admire him as a person and a captain. I hope he keeps playing well but I feel his decision to reverse his Scotland retirement will affect that. His legs and energy have always been his greatest qualities and that will suffer as a result of that.

    Agreed.

Wish he'd just keep it simple.

A man down in so many big games ? That's as far as I got on your post.

Name these big games where he's been a man down then...

Sound. Don't read the full post if you don't want to. Delude yourself further. You must've stopped watching as well over the years if you don't think Brown has been a passenger in some important games for us.

He was always alright in games against bigger opposition like Benfica etc. when we have less of the ball and he can chase and close down the opposition as that's his game (although Ledley and Wanyama held the midfield together for our Last 16 run) - but in games such as Malmo, Molde, animals at Ibrox - he's been a liability when we are chasing a goal and need to break the opposition down.

Just because he's our captain doesn't mean you can't judge him impartially. Last season he was fantastic. The season before he was utter knickers. The previous years of his tenure have been an inconsistent mix of both.
