    Strip brown of captaincy

Last night where was the great Scott Brown? He couldn't lead a horse to water, and totally disrupts our style of play. He doesn't get enough goals, and last night when we needed the captain to steady the team, he was hiding, and didn't want to take responsibility. I would drop him for St Mirren on Sunday and play a midfield four of Commons Ki Kayal and Ledley. As for a new captain, I was considering big Forster, but he seems too quiet and timid a guy, someone like Kayal or Commons should get it. Deep down I know Lenny won't do it, as he is too friendly with guys like Brown and Sammy, but has a personal vendetta against decent players like Stokes. A change of captaincy would maybe see us start to play better with more passion. thoughts?

Nobody in our team is captain material. There's no leaders. Brown is the worst possible captain from the squad. He's a * footballer who gets special treatment from management. When he plays a better player is left out and it's not right.

We've all seen the videos of him on the training ground etc. He's a joker, but he's not a leader. Captains lead by example and have experience, as well as the will and ability to pull players through in difficult circumstances. Brown has none of these attributes, as far as I can see. Add into that that he's a technically poor footballer...

People say he's better on the right, but is he? He doesn't have the dribbling skills to beat a man and neither can he cross.

i'm with lennon on this one,he's picked him as captain i think the players like him as captain and he might be a bit headstrong but he doesnt let the opposition push him around.and if some of our team followed his lead in pressuring refs and fannies that think theyre hardmen instead of standing by and letting him do it all we would be more respected.

He didn't do well. No one could pass on the pitch last night.

He's no where near captaincy material for Celtic
The next middling offer for him I'd take the arm off them
Honestly I think he is not a team leader nor is he a good player very average imo
He is keeping creative players like commons,mc court,Forrest out of the team
These are the type of players that create more chances going forward

It was more in the Mogga-Lenny era that he had to play the destructive role. He was the only guy up to the job. However, I think his real ability, the one we saw at Hibs, is as a mobile box to box guy who doesnt have to keep a static position and spray the ball around.

His natural position is on the right of a MF three IMO or as the guy who doesnt have to protect the back. In a 4-4-2, I dont think the issue really is whether he is right or centre. The issue IMO is how much he has to hold back from attacking because of defensive duties. The problem in CM (and personally I think he has been instructed to do this) is he holds back and doesnt use his good pace and ability to run with the ball. I actually think Broony is good at the box to box stuff but he has never really been played in a set up that really lets a box to box MF do his stuff.

For example Stan is always remembered for his box to box stuff but he was played in a 3-5-2 or you could call it a 3-4-1-2 with him being the '1'. Stan had the perfect set up for a box to box MF. He was played in the centre but had two specialist defensive CM of a high caliber behind him (Lambo and Lenny). He really didnt have to worry about protecting the back door. There is a problem getting the best in a box to box CM in a 4-4-2 IMO. The Broony role wide right but tucked in role is probably as close as he can get to that role in a 4-4-2. He can also do the dirty work. However, he is not a static passing kind of player. Its really not his game. I think one thing I have observed about him is he doesnt like standing about and spraying the ball about. The more time he has to think the more it doesnt suit him. He is far better at a role where he is moving about at speed all over the pitch. Basically an all action mobile role rather than holding position and spraying the ball about like Ledley or Kayal.

i honestly dont know what the * lennon sees in brown?

I dont know what anyone sees in him!

one of the most overrated players ever to play for us IMO
