    There was a period that he was winning every tackle and getting back and intercepting, making blocks and generally controlling the game. * amazing seeing him getting back to what he can be.

    I think it may be all due to a slightly different shape with him more or less the main holding midfield player. He was much better than previous weeks.

    Looking a little sharper now, but I think he is still nowhere near ready. His passing can be erratic, but he normally zips it into peoples feet and that gets our tempo going. There were a lot of slow, sideways, nothing passes from him today. Also, he normally spins on the ball well and is quite nimble. He has been turning like John Hartson since he came back into the team.

    Still, there's no one in the squad I'd rather see leading us out next Sunday.

    Better today but let's not exaggerate. He was still extremely slack on the ball and gave away far too many stupid fouls. Wish he'd cut that out of his game.

    Still though, definitely an improvement.
