So true :50: It's the reason it's sad to see him playing like he has been because we know how good a player and captain he is. I can't wait till he recovers full form again and gets his confidence back.

This is my opinion only. I think our best midfield performances this season were when Brown was out the team.

I like him, and he has been a machine for the last few seasons, but I don't think we missed him when he was injured.

Needs dropping, not sure if Ronny will though. Has been shocking since coming back from injury, offers nothing, kinda just runs around a lot.

Terms like "heavy lifting" and "silent engine", terms that don't really mean anything, sum up Scott Brown imo. He's not a very good footballer, so people want to find something else to like about him. He's just not very good, and as for "losing a limb" when he wasn't playing, we've had several of our best results without him in the team in the last 5 years.

    * hear hear that man.

The issue with Broony is that his role now is not to be fancy and sexy--- it's to break up the play, keep a calm head, protect his defence and keep the ball moving. He's - when fit, and sharp - so, so important for Celtic in that midfield. He's been a servant for years and I love Scott 'The Shark' Broonie.

Of course, his time will eventually come, when he has to take his foot off the gas and allow players, natural successors, to come in and do what he does. But that time is a way off yet. Brown is a leader, a captain, and a Celtic daft man at that. I love that we get to have him in our team, rather than play against him.

Saltire absolutely nailed it with the above post. It's only when he's gone, and we're searching for a player who has tirelessly put in as much graft, energy and effort into the midfield role, that people will say 'oh, how i miss Scott Brown's influence on this Celtic team'.

If he's not 100 percent, mind you, he shouldn't be playing. But then, we have a * manager... who can't, for example, put Allan and Bitton in there and allow a partnership to grow and Brown to share it with Allan.

Terms like ''heavy lifting'' and 'silent engine'' mean a lot more in football than you and a lot of other people seem to understand.

If those things meant nothing in football we'd be as well having 11 futsal players in our team.

It's why in an absolutely phenomenal AC Milan team, Rino Gattuso always got a game.

It's why Arsenal never win * all.

Why does every manager we have had since Brown has been here rated him? He tracks runners and he is excellent at it. This is not a glamorous job but it is one of the most important on the pitch. Sometimes just sticking with a man is all that you need.

If he is part of a 2 then yes if part of a 3 then no.

Aye Arsenal are crying out for a player like Broony, who can win the midfield battle and stop the opposition from getting any flow to their game.

Wasn't Broony excellent against Ajax and Fenerbahce?

Lose the plot how? By having a different opinion to some others?

I said when he was injured, and I think it was in convo with you, that we don't miss Brown as much as some make out. I think the midfield who played in his absence showed that.

As I said before, I like Brown, and his commitment is what is required. I just don't think we miss him when he's not there, and I actually think we've played better from midfield when he's not in the team.

100%. There needs to be a balance.

I've also always felt that Browns supposed lack of technical ability, and passing has been exaggerated. He's no Xavi but he's still a very good footballer, he wouldnt be the captain of Celtic otherwise.

Yep. People on here genuinely believe he can't pass or assist, which is absolute *..

He's not great at that side of it but he deffo has it in his locker when he turns it on..
