    Tell yees what......

That game on Sunday was crying out for Scott Brown.
McGregor at times has been a better football player and better goalscorer.
But Broony was like an immense force in the midfield in those games.
They could not bully him out the game. He was immune to that. They would kick him but that just made his smile wider. He did not feel any fear or intimidation....he loved all thst in fact.

McGregor could do with a few of Scott Brown's attributes I think

    Here here

There’s no way players would be riding tackles if Brown was playing.

Not only would he himself be winning the ball he would be making sure everyone else does.

There won't be another one like him.
Only man he couldn't cope with (and he says so himself) was Andrea Pirlo - AC Milan and Italy.
I think that's quite understandable and your doing OK if that's the only midfielder in the world that you can't handle

If he was up for it, I honestly wouldn't be averse to making him part of the coaching set up now.

But to be fair, he's his own man and likely content going about his manager role and wouldn't want to take a step back as it were to give that up.

Think he'll stay at Ayr for another season then try and get himself a better gig, maybe down in the English Championship.

Not overly a fan of him giving it the "it's no really ma team" excuse given he arrived there in January 2024. 3 transfer windows ago. Should've never thrown away that tie last night.

Granted, I think promotion with Ayr this season always felt a bit too soon. It's only because they were challenging for the title for a period that people won't see it, but them reaching the playoffs was good work from Brown.

He really needs to have a long hard think about whether he has the tools he needs to take Ayr one step closer next season and do better in the playoffs. Going to be really tough and can't see them having a major budget this summer either.

Can be happy with his work this year though. Finished 3rd and gave Falkirk a wee run for their money for a period.

He’s more meaning that they weren’t his team in terms of the way they played and his philosophies. He’s not saying they aren’t his because he’s not signed them or had enough time.
