That's a given. After all, there's no way Celtic would break the law.

Six pounds eight pence an hour: shell out till it hurts. :icon_mrgreen:

Hopefully someone's daft enough to buy him now.

If he's signed a new contract I doubt we will be selling him.

Same thing happened with Stiliyan Petrov.

And that was the best business we have done in recent years.

Let him go for nowt... or re-sign him, sell him, and pocket 7 million? Hmmm... tough one...

Spookily, it's the same situation now as well, with MON just taking over at a new club. I wonder...

You never know man, I would like him to stay as I personally rate Scott Brown. But if it is the same situation as Petrov, then fair play to Brown and Celtic, it would work out very well for all parties involved.

He'd be a decent option for a Premiership club on a free transfer, he won't go anywhere now, no one is gonna come in and pay squillions for this guy because he's not worth it.

Petrov situation was different, as he was a miles better player.

Petrov was in fantastic form during that period. His hat trick against Motherwell was the best I've seen anyone play for Celtic.

Strachan said it was the best midfield performance he has seen in his life.

As a few have pointed out - new contract means nothing in terms of whether he's staying at the club or not.

With regards to ability, I'd actually think a bottom half Premiership team could reasonably consider Brown as a battler / ball-winner type seeing as they spend most of their games defending. Could persuade some clubs into thinking he'd be a decent signing for £3-5m (ball-park figure)

On another note, haven't seen much people backtracking on the anti-Lawwell stuff that was flying around re:Brown - PL got a right kicking for not having him signed up but here we are.

I could see him going to a club like Wigan. They're basically like a Celtic B side. Middlesbrough too.

Have to disagree, he'd be shown up for the player he is. A grafter with little to no technique.

He would struggle in the Championship imo.

The EPL's nothing special btw. Better standard than up here but there are far worse players than Scott Brown playing week in week out down there.

Agreed. I actually think Lawell is a good chief exec but he takes nothing but stick on here.

Celtic captain Scott Brown has signed a new three-year contract extension, with the club having the option of adding a further 12 months to the deal.

Middle to bottom of the premiership, their are some very average teams and some terrible error-strewn games.

On a freebie, Brown would probably be a good option for one of these sides, to charge around and break up the play, it's his only real asset for me.

Ramires, Cattermole, Mulumbu, Palacios, Reo-Coker, Diame, theres a few Scott Brown like players in the Premiership even James McArthur sometimes gets a game for Wigan and he's like an absolute shitemans Brown.

Brown could get a game for anyone in the bottom half of the Premiership.
