if he wont sign new contract i would not play him

 

I think I was jsut more miffed that he would have left for * all after all that's been invested for what I consider 1 good season (not all in one season).
Glad he's signed, and hopefully he can start to show his worth, and maybe even shift him in a year or 2.

Forrest has been exceptional this season, but needs a bit of a rest. Broony is the type of player u need during games such as dundee utd who like to get stuck into us- forrest can sometimes be beaten off the ball pretty easily, need a psycho on the team to deal with it

His double? You thought Neil was absent during his time in a Celtic shirt? I can perhaps accept Brown not being as present, as I'd like, but Lennon...really?

 

People are acting like it was browns fault during our bad slump, if I remember correctly it started after the rangers game which just so happened to be when brown got injured. I can guarantee we won't go 3-0 down in the first half again with him in the team !! Would put money on that, we need a leader cause we certainly don't haveone just now.

Aye but you don't remember correctly - in fact you remember very wrongly indeed.

In our last seven games before Brown went out injured, our record was:

Won 2
Drawn 1
Lost 4

And one of the two victories was a match in which Brown didn't feature. In other words, out of those seven matches, we had only one victory which featured Brown.

And, lest we forget, a home defeat to St Johnstone in which he played the full 90 mins.

You're in good company though. I find Broony's cheerleaders nearly always have a memory of his "achievements" which bears no relation to the facts.

great news! we're in a really good period right now! things are going from good to better! long may it continue.

 

Me either, the way it was going and letting it run down until he could talk to other clubs made it look like he was for the off.

I suppose it must have just been a game of brinkmanship between Celtic and the agent for the agent's fee because Celtic said that everything with Brown had been agreed - I assume Celtic got their way because the only thing the agent would have would be to let Brown run down his contract until he could speak to other clubs in the hope that Celtic would pay it before it got to that stage, but obviously Brown wants to stay and that seems to be the overriding factor.

That or Brown is just signing a new contract so that Celtic can get some money for him, in that case Celtic would have to have given him assurances that if a decent bid came in they wouldn't stand in his way. A bit like the Petrov saga.
