Great news. Not his biggest fan but would've been a blow to lose him for nothing.

Hopefully this is the only player with 6 months left on their contract that gets offered a new deal.

This is great news for the club as it looked like we might have been in danger of losing Brown for nothing. Now hopefully Brown can get himself fully fit and like Kayal and Hooper over the last few weeks get himself back to the great form he enjoyed for much of last season.

Will never be his biggest fan, but it's one less thing for the papers to write about.

Let's just hope he stays clear of injuries, he should have to work to get his place back for me in light of our recent form.

No doubt that will be Samaras bombed from his left wing role now that he is fit, with Forrest moving across to accomodate Brown.

Good news regardless of how Brown has been, at the end of the day we paid over £4m for him and we are protecting that investment by not allowing him away for free

I liked him befor the stand up he did which most of Tramadol Nights was in. Lost the plot.

Only so many rape jokes you can hear until it loses the shock value.

i see the 'lets get rid of him' brigade are out.He would'nt have ducked on wednesday night and is one of the last ones who wont give his all for the club.People mention his lack of quality it was him that set up Hooper for his goal agianst Rangers and certainly he showed plenty of quality last season.

The guy did not deserve an improved contract,he has been getting very well paid whilst not performing imo.
I would like to know whats been offered, how much more is he being paid to under perform.
my fear is ,we lose kayal in january and we are left with the headless chicken in midfield, kayal is by far the better player from the two.

In all honesty, this made sense. It would have been foolhardy to lose Brown for nothing, over some kind of agent's fee or whatever. Now we can at least get a half-decent amount of cash back from our rash 4 million investment.

My one worry is that now - just as the team is finally really clicking and getting motoring - we may undo all the good work by sticking Brown back in, to "put him in the shop window". He does not suit the skilful, intelligent, quickthinking game we are set up to play.

Punt in january. Just four weeks to go...

What's the difference between (A) a kicker in American football, and (B) Peter Lawwell deciding on Scott Brown's future?

    A) Never mind the helmet, just punt the baw

    B) Never mind the baws, just punt the helmet!

This is my issue. I actually dont think he is that good or that bad. But to let him go on a freebie or for next to nothing would be bad business. Get him tied up on a contract then if he goes Im happy. If he stays I dont mind either.

If he wanted to sign that much and it was his agent holding it all up for the fee wouldn't you just sack your agent? i would if it was me at celtic i wouldn't let my agent ruin my career with the team i captain because of a fee that he wants sounds stupid.. glad that this is all sorted now though.. if it actually even is
