Most people can tell a good player when they see one - unfortunately, Barkas just doesn't look like a good GK. We have came up against teams with average or poor defenders in front of their keeper and their keeper have kept them in the game. We only look at that horrible * McGregor yesterday and his save against us at ipox to see how much a good GK can win games. So, I believe, the GK posistion is our number one signing priority and both Bain and Barkas should be sold with Hazard given more time to develop.

He's had the odd game for Southampton and been on the bench most games think he's only a injury away getting his place in the team so think we need to find another target in the summer .

They’ve both looked really poor in all honesty, Bain moreso in recent weeks obviously.

We simply have to strengthen in the summer. Bain isn’t good enough to be number 1 here, and pinning the season on the hope that Barkas comes good too risky. He’s been very poor for the outlay on him so far.

He may be handed a chance again soon at Saints, they are shipping goals bigtime.
I would love to see the big man back at the Celtic. He is the standard we need to get.

Mccarthy won't be blamed for the 9 nil, they played the whole game with 10 men.
His contract ends in 16 months time so I expect Southampton to sell him this summer and use Gunn as 2nd choice going forward

I would have taken him if we could have got him early January, purely on the basis there was still a glimmer of hope in the league. Given thats now gone and the way the whole situation with him has went, verbally agreeing then going radio silent etc, I think its best we move on and find someone new, can't be too hard to find an improvement on what we currently have.

Our keeper needs to be confident in the defenders in front of him and feeling is mutual but unfortunately that isnt the case.

    Yes indeed, you are correct.
But there are goalkeeping fundamentals that any decent keeper needs to have. Like positioning, commanding the area, cutting out crosses, and of course shot stopping, getting a strong hand to a shot, pushing the ball to a safe area if unable to gather.
Does any of our keepers have these attributes?

Two keepers in Scotland that's looked good is the keeper from Dundee utd and the motherwell keeper on Saturday who kept Motherwell in the game with some good saves but maybe as the number two next season and think we will need to look further for a number one .

He was practically begging for us to make a move..

Even as backup that would've been a smart signing but he clearly and quickly would've been our number 1..

There is one, but it’s like a car pile up you can see more cars heading for.

You know it’ll be terrible, you know you don’t want to see what’s going to happen next.

But you still watch, and wonder why they you did.

A good keeper would have saved that.

Agreed. I would look to sell Barkas this summer if possible. I would be fine with keeping Bain but only as backup for which he would be a good keeper as the number 2. I would be happy to have another run at Forster this summer. But assuming that he is not coming would be on the look out for a new number 1 for next season. The goalkeeping situation has been arguably the biggest issue for us this season and certainly has played a major part in the disaster the season has been.

So true. I would go so far as to say that had we had FF in goal, we would still be in the hunt for league. Am sure he would have stopped a dozen of goals we have conceded this season.
