    No complaints from me.

Not good enough to be No1, but a very, VERY solid back up to have.

Seig probably moving on, suspect his new squeeze will be angling for him to join an Oz club.

Can't see her being too enamored with the lack of attention they both get in Glasgow.
No hate here, just the way if the world these days. Careers are built on PR.

Bizarre why we giving new contracts to players who haven't kicked a ball in maybe a year and a half and if we are giving him a new contract we may as well give * McCarthy a new contract as well another who hasn't kicked a ball .

As long as he remains 3rd choice who cares. He’s probably a good person to have about the place.

Maybe at the end of his contract. But I wouldn't complain if we had 2 good keepers on our books seriously competing for the no.1 spot going into next season.

I consider this to be a backward step.
I don’t think Bain’s anywhere near good enough to be even a backup keeper.

Personally I think we should spend on a quality No.1.In Europe Joe has been found wanting in his distribution of the ball with his feet.I like Hart, but he’s not at the level needed for the big boys’ playground.

And certainly Bain and Siegrist are nowhere near good enough for European football.

I would be spending a fair chunk of the transfer war chest on a top-quality keeper

Surely we can’t repeat the Barkas mistake of a signing?

    Hail Hail.

A third choice goalie isn’t likely to see much minutes. They take the job on knowing that, their role is far different.

He’s clearly popular within the dressing room and is one of the senior players having been here a number of years now and probably most importantly home grown which we are fast running out of.

Folk complaining about this would literally complain about anything.

I desperately want us to sign a new keeper this year who’s coming in to properly compete with Hart, but expecting us to have 3 keepers on the books all of which would be good enough to be classed as a number 1 is living on another planet.

Think we should have let him go and either bought another keeper or promote within like the young keepers we have on our books .
We are a football club and not a community centre and don't give a * if he's good in the dressing room as I want our fringe players pushing our players who are in the first team .

That's kinda my point though, regarding the fact he's a third choice home grown who's hardly gonna play.
Surely that could just have been a youth keeper in Tobi or Hazard? Considering Bain has 12 months on his current(last) deal, why did we need to extend it, to a guy who's on more than a youth player and as we say, is 3rd choice and hardly going to play.

I've no real issue with Bain in himself, but just seems odd to extend a contract of someone who isn't going to play at all.

Not fully buying the need for him to be a quota when others can fill that position.
Also not sold on the idea it's because he's a good fit in the dressing room.
Surely we don't need Bain to hold the squad together, Ange doesn't seem the sentimental guy in that sense either.

We'd probably be looking to loan Tobi back out though to aid his development and Hazard might want first team football elsewhere. Bain seems happy where he is and isn't going to shake the tree. It makes sense to keep Bain, if anything but for strategic reasons.

Even if Tobi isn't loaned out, if he's good enough he should surely climb the ladder past Bain soon anyway.

Not many keepers are going to sign for us knowing they’ll be third choice, and ones who do likely won’t be any sort of an improvement on Bain. Pretty much every club in the world at the moment has a third choice keeper which ticks the homegrown box, good to have in the dressing room and isn’t going to shake the tree at not playing, it’s the way it is.

We’ll never have a third choice keeper who will provide any sort of competion for the first choice, that’s what the second choice is for.

We’re short on homegrown players as it is, third choice keeper is an ideal way of getting one in for free so to speak.

Everyone will think about the Covid season (when the whole team was shocking) but when he played for us under Rodgers he was pretty decent. Dislodged Gordon that season and he made a difference - mostly we no longer had to endure the Gordon hospital balls.

Good signing. Club can't afford to pay big dollars for a 3rd string keeper. Top man on the * from all reports and leaves blokes Mrs alone

Mooy isn't homegrown, he came through the Bolton system and only 2 years at St mirren.
    Turnbull is likely away.
Tobi is struggling at LoI and he needs to improve before becoming bench worthy in my view. He needs to go out on loan for at least another year and a half I'd say.
Vata and Summers are both b list so we can have them and Bain.

Bain can be second or third choice keeper, but doesn't take up a foreign spot. It's those spots we are running short of.

He conceided more goals than Barkas when he got the chance in that season. Not alone his fault, yes, but I remember a couple of howlers from him. So I wouldn't call him a solid backup, could enough for number 3 and that's it. It kind of makes sense to keep him for that but I want a better number 2. If we want to progress in Europe that's a must.

Been very impressive coming in from the cold..

He has attributes that I want from a Celtic keeper being good with his distribution, quick off his line playing the sweeper keeper role..

Just a pity he's no good enough and about 6 foot. Someone more commanding with some of the attributes above and we'll be better off..

Always rated his ability with the ball at his feet and he's a very decent shot stopper.
