The * was I watching a different game tonight? I thought he was really good granted a couple shaky moments with the ball at his feet but that's par for the course with us just now Hart has his moments as well. I'm not even a fan of Bain but he played well tonight you're all harsh as *

I'm usually the doom and gloom merchant as well

Think Bain gets judged incredibly harshly.

He was absolutely * * mate. Awkward with the ball at his feet, absolutely rooted to his spot multiple times for Betis efforts, failed to catch a soft effort straight into the centre of his chest, nowhere near the Iglesias cross/shot that went over the bar, booted the ball clear twice when he could have just jumped on it and grabbed it with his hands. He was also * for the Iglesias goal one on one when he slid it into the bottom right. Made the striker’s mind up for him. He’s never a Celtic goalkeeper. Not in a million years.

Credit to him, he made a couple of decent stops but that means * all when the rest of your game is so lacking. He’s also small. Get him to * honestly.

He was kicking ball's straight to their wingers
Didn't catch a single ball all night
Palming pass back's out for corners
    Flapped at every ball

He's a joke of a keeper. Frighteningly bad..

He was incredibly unlucky with one of the goals. It was a good save on the post and unlucky to hit off him.

He was trying to keep things safe and simple. He didn't look comfortable catching the ball.

I thought he made a few good saves being dodgy with the ball at the keepers feet is nothing unusual to us. If Hart put in that performance tonight nobody would criticise him. He was also unlucky with the equaliser and the second goal is on Mikey Johnstone for giving it away 1 on 1 you would always back the striker.

You’re well wide of the mark here mate. Hart would’ve been rightly subject to a lot of criticism if that was him tonight. But he’s an actual top level professional goalkeeper, Bain wouldn’t get a game if he was sent back to Dundee.

Bain cost us Champions League qualification against Cluj.

Came here expecting to see people appreciating his efforts and overall performance on the night.

Clearly not first choice any time soon but he made some important saves and demonstrated himself as acceptable backup.

Somewhat surprised at just how badly people are slaughtering him.

Bain is * I'm not saying otherwise. Tonight though he was good imo unlucky with the goal then Johnston sold the jerseys for the second one

He was mingin. Hart does have his moments, but Bain had a moment every time the ball was at his feet. Constantly took an extra touch and allowed their attackers to put him under pressure. Could have gifted them a goal when he passed it straight to their left winger under absolutely zero pressure.

Just miles off it. No presence and must panic the defence.

I’m not talking about Johnston and I’m not focusing on the goals. Overall his performance was absolutely awful and you won’t be able to convince me or 99% of this thread otherwise.

The one he kinda punched for a corner, could have easily held.

But, was so unlucky with the save off the post..

Difficult for him too, no substitute for game time..

He’s not good enough even for a backup.

He made some decent saves. Saw plenty of action which he wouldn’t be used to.

Aye he was decent the night. Some say he’s not good enough for backup but I think he’s the best backup keeper we’ve had in 20 years there u are

He's fine for a back up as long as we never need to play our back up. Must be better back ups than him

My memory isn't great but surely Zaluska was a better backup goalie than Bain?

Nah he was nowhere near him, people just tend to think this is because Bain’s played more games in less time at the club. Bain’s been good enough to replace the first team keeper twice, first Gordon then Barkas.

Just not good enough to be at the right standard or to keep up the form. Keep his role with what we done with Zuluska and we’re sound, in for a game or two at the most
