I said that at the time about Allan and a few others, but was quickly shouted down by some (not you).

I think he was considered a gamble that was worth it. If he panned out great, if not, no big loss.

I think it was, he was on record as saying he wanted Scottish talent and it was cheap enough that the talents he does have could have been of good use. Didn't work out in the end up but think it's the same logic as GMS or Armstrong.

Allan should be getting a game ahead of Armstrong, disappointed with Brendan on this one, he should be seeing Allan's quality.

Never really had a chance but Armstrong gets game after game, plus he canny be the same spineless coward Bitton is into the bargain, a few others should have been moved on before Allan

Allan isn't in the same league as bitton. If he was as good as some on here seem to believe then firstly, he wouldn't be allowed to leave and second, he would surely be going to a bigger club than Rotherham.

Allan will end up playing with Dundee or St Johnstone next before his journey down the leagues. Nowhere near good enough.

i was in the "we signed him just to annoy sevco" camp and that he was no good but after seeing him play albeit in very small amounts he looked a decent player with a bit of potential, hope he has gone for game time and comes back and fulfils his potential next season. as has already been pointed out, there is a few I thought would have been shown the door long before scott.

CELTIC midfielder Scott Allan has joined Rotherham United on a season-long loan. The 24-year-old links up again with Alan Stubbs, who was previously his manager at Hibernian.
Scott signed for Celtic last August, and has made 17 first-team appearances for the Hoops.
Everyone wishes Scott every success with Rotherham United this season.

Maybe his lack of pace let's the lad down. It's a funny one as he has good attributes. Always thought he got stuck in as well.

Allan has potential but I can see why we loaned him out as he's not getting a game. Don't think it's a bad move, and we can reassess him against hopefully a smaller squad when he comes back.

I like this approach and makes sense, I honestly don't think his time is up here yet. Has too much quality on the ball, as you've said think we need to trim the squad a bit more hopefully offloading Armstrong and Johansen from that area for a start.

BR on Scott Allan going out on loan: "Playing time. Since coming to the club last year, he hasn't played a 90-min game in about a yr.

BR: "Opportunity came up for him to go to Rotherham for a manger he knows. We will * it when he comes back.

    He has clearly not impressed.

Others should be worried once we acquire more players.

Allan is clearly not at the required level for this football club, I don't expect him back.

You don't send 25 year olds on loan to see if they are good enough.
