He's always looked decent when he's been on the park, I'm not sure why Deila didn't give him more of a chance. Hopefully he gets some game time under Rodgers.

I hope he gets a game on Wednesday. He gives us something we lack a lot of the time. Brilliant, defence splitting passes with his vision. Also tricky with the ball and good under pressure.
Hope he finally gets a place in the team as, like others have said, whenever he's played he's done well. I honestly can't think of a game where he's cone on and not contributed. There was the mistake in the Ajax game but that was more the silly desicion to take a short corner when everyone expected it to go in the box. But even in that game that was the only blip on a good overall performance.
Hopefully once the season starts properly he will be in the team a lot more and getting starts. Definitely one of more naturally talented midfielders.

I'll be honest, I thought he'd completely fail here and never wanted him played. Felt as though he was only signed as a get it up ye, to the huns. After watching him with the few times he's had a chance, I don't understand why he doesn't get given more. Hopefully starts Wednesday, creates 5 of the 13 goals and gets motm.

Ronny seemed to be looking for players that are willing to charge around like a swarm of Jack Rusells when we loose the ball. Probably not the most notable feature of Scott Allan's game.

This is a great tactic for a middle for diddle ranking club in a tight league. It was dogmatic and fundamentally flawed when you consider that 90% of our games are against teams who are packing midfield or parking the bus. In fact it dragged our standard towards the middle for diddle style and actually reduced the quality of our performance to that level. Hence we got progressively worse in a less competitive league.

But what Celtic have always needed is a football brain on the pitch. Look at players like Pirlo and Inniesta (best in the world in my view) - they are there to think their way through a defence - not to chase around the park.

I'm not saying that Scott is at that level - but he's the closest thing I've seen to a football brain in a Celtic strip for at least 3 years. Just put the boy on and he'll become a fantastic, effective player for us - and people who don't really understand football will eventually realise the difference between chasing and thinking.

Just seen this - please tell me Rodgers hasn't gone and committed to the Brown Mulgrew axis of turgid * - before even seeing this in the flesh. I can't believe he'd be so stupid as to do this.

I'd keep mulgrew as cd cover. We seem to get injured there every other game and he's more than capable of stepping up, as long as he stays out of midfield we'll be fine. Brown can play as long as Bitton doesn't. Game slows down way too much if both are playing there with the world class 5 yards sideways pass to the other team.

Always wants the ball and happy to take possession in tight spaces. I hope he is given more of a chance this season.

    Short.

    Stocky.

Both look similar on the ball.

    I like him.

    More than Armstrong actually.

He looks more calm and alert than Armstrong to me. Gets the ball, knows where to move it and does it efficiently. Always in the right place and know's where the 2 nearest targets are. Think he needs to show a bit more to become a regular but he's making a good case to stay here long-term in my opinion.

He can also take better set pieces.

Said it in the match thread, how Allan and Rogic can't get a game ahead of Brown and Armstrong is concerning.

We look so much better when they're in our MF.

Why Allan doesn't take regular set pieces is a mystery to me. Don't know how much of that is up to coaching or the players but his corner delivery for Hib's was 9/10 bang on. Armstrong couldn't hit the ocean with his corners.
