Players from African nations won the world cup with France, Brazilians have played for several other nations, Poles have played for Germany plus the Boateng brothers have played against each other in International games.

 

But none of them where Fenians

 

so because i was born in england, i should play for them? despite my whole family coming from scotland. because i was born in england, thats my team.
is it *. i support scotland and i'd play for scotland given the chance.

i suppose you have to be in that situation to understand. its alright guys born scotland who support scotland saying it. but they just dont get it

 

International football is * anyways I couldn't care less who plays for Ireland Scotland or the peoples republic of Korea

 

Seems some people are actually hoping they get booed just so they can jump and scream about racism. Get a grip, they'll get booed because they're both very good footballers that would have improved the Scottish national team a lot - of course people are going to be angry and upset, therefore have a go at them.

 

Hopefully one of them scores a winner in the dying seconds.

I find it strange that so much blame is attached to McGeady and McCarthy while the people who make the very rules that allow McGeady and McCarthy to do what they did get off scot free. It's the rule writers who are really to blame here. If there was a clear rule that stated you can only play for the country you were born in, or the country your parents were born in, then both players would be playing for Scotland on Friday night.

We can argue till the cows come home about whether McGeady and McCarthy were right or wrong to make the decision they made but as long as the rules allow them to do what they did then you can't really pin all the blame on them. I personally think it's a total nonsense that you can play football for a country just because your grandparents came from that country but that's the rules so we just have to crack on with it.

 

If he was a key player for a good Premiership side, then yes. Yes there would.

If he was utter *, then no. No there wouldn't.

They'll be treated like another player who turned his back on his country... Remember Diego Costa at the World Cup? Are the Brazilian fans racist towards Spaniards aye?

Podolski also gets a hard time when Germany play Poland, that's the way it is.

 

Diego Costa isn't in anyway Spanish he played for sporting advancements that's the only reason
