I hope they get boo,d to * from 1st whistle to last.

The 2 of them are 100 percent Scottish and should be playing or there OWN country

 

Did it hurt watching Commons in a Scotland jersey?

Does that mean Commons shouldn't have ever played for Scotland?

There are thousands of examples of this in football, if someone wants to represent a country at the international level and has the choice to do so, who is anyone to tell them they can't.

 

It's different if they changed teams for purely sporting reasons they hardly did that if they went to play for Ireland ffs

 

They both would have probably played for Scotland had it not been for the stupid rules about playing for your country and your school. However I hoped they both get booed along with the rest of the Ireland team because I want Scotland to win, not because of the country they chose.

 

That I can agree on about the booing

 

Here's a question would anyone on here be saying the same thing if mcgeady picked England over Scotland ? Not a chance use would be giving him it stinking let's be honest it's because it's Ireland people stick up for him.

Commons should have played for England aye but he's no wer near good enough and I'm sure if he was good enough he would have played for them and not accepted a game for Scotland as a last resort to get international football


No matter who you are or what team you support or if your great great great granda is Irish YOUR not therefor you should play for what ever country you are from.

 

commons is as much Scottish as they are irish, same with bardsley, same with Richard gough, same with stuart mccall, Scotland have done it for years, but these 2 seem to cause a bigger fuss than any other, as the country they choose happens to be ireland

I'm not really into playing for a country your great grans dog came from.
If you're born and raised in one country then you should play for them.

 

If he picked England you could argue for sporting advancements because it's a step up Ireland is hardly that what about if you come from the north of.Ireland should you be made play for them and not the Republic

 

I have less of a problem with McGeady playing for Ireland as by all accounts he was brought up in that culture so to speak.Im sure his family are deeply into retaining their Irish identity and all that, so i understand him growing up thinking he was Irish....fair enough.

I think McCarthy was over looked as a youngster was he not, and was given the chance with Ireland and took it.

Either way, i dont really care......nationality is a load of *.Its only a game.Play for whoever you want to.

I couldn't give a rats * about the Ireland football team, never have.

So it is ok for Commons because "he wasn't good enough", but not ok for McGeady and McCarthy?

would the same fuss be made over this, if like commons was for England the 2 players were not good enough for Scotland, so they went elsewere to secure international football, Ireland went out there way for both players, Scotland never made the effort, and by the way I could not give a * about any international team at all

 

No what in saying is if commons was good enough for England he would have played for them and not Scotland. Mcgeady is good enough for Scotland but chose Ireland that's wrong IMO

Commons didnt pick to play for Scotland over England. He only played for us because he would have wanted to see what international fitbaws all about

 

What if your from northern Ireland or your an African from France
A Catalonian and have to play for Spain ect
