Boyd's nowhere near as good as McDonald though and only plays in certain formations. Kenny Miller keeps him out of the Scotland team.

To an English club, I would expect them to pay around £10m, you know what the English are like with there money.

Wouldnt see him but, he's been priceless for us this season and I dont see that changing.

5 or 6 million tops is what he's worth and that is no slight on his ability. Remember he's only been here for 1 year, to be considered a proven goalscorer for a decent club you have to do it season in season out for a good few seasons until then your a gamble to other teams.

I'd say 6 million at the moment, basing that on an english championship player as that is what the SPL is viewed as in England.

he is worth way more than 2 million we all agree on that, the price he would go for right now probably round about 5m

I'd be disapointed if we let him go for 5m. Trying to replace him would be extremely difficult for that kind of money.

I wouldnt sell him for less that £10M, why would we sell a 30+ goal a season striker thats 24 for £5M?

Seller's market, thats how much he's worth to us at least, none of this real value malarky

I guess he's worth around 5-6 mio. if he goes to england, they would have to pay 5 mio extra (tariff and tax)

The creation of this thread makes a mockery of the whole situation tbh. It's down right insulting to be talking about wee McDonald in the £2 mil bracket and it will not happen. End of.

There is a guy called Tim Vickery who is an expert on South American football, trust me he knows his stuff.Anyway he rates Fabio as being in the top two of the best goalkeepers in Brazil. He is still quite young I think and is seen as a potential successor to Dida.

    Everton :56::56:

Funny at the same time sad that these pathetic little english diddy clubs that concider mid-table a success think they can just come in and pay no-money for CL class and international players just because they play in Scotland.

    Everton, GTF!!! :bbpd:

£10m easy in the English market. Look what Gordon and Mutton went to England for.

If we are to sell players to England (McDonald not one of them) then we should take them for everything they have, English teams get more money a year than we probably get in 5, I mean look at Hull City getting £60m this year.

Then these idiots such as Kevin Keegan moan about how he is working with "limited resorces" :56::56:good one Kevin :50:

It's hard to put a price on him. He's priceless in the SPL, but I think he'd struggle outside of it. The price that's being quoted is an insult though. We'd be far better off holding on to him. 30+ goals from a 24 yr old, plus chipping in in the CL is going to be hard to top. I'll throw in a figure of 7M, not for sale, but for value. * hard guy to put a price on, though!

Nah, I don't think anyone would pay more than 5m.

Anyone got a link to the story??? I'm more than a wee bit sceptical about this to be honest. There is NO way the SPL top scorer, a player with CL experience playing against some of Europe's top defences is worth 2mill and to be honest the hack who wrote it should have his balls stitched to his * with barbed wire.

We'd get 6 mill for him today, but doesn't he have 3 years left on his contract and did he not come out and say we were wanting to renegotiate his contract?. Think that was only a couple of weeks back. We're not a selling club anymore, not with the way the club's being run now. If we were Boruc would have been touted around Europe already and the opposite has happened. Lawell came out and said he wanted him to stay, as did Strachan.
