I cant afford to have a new scarf shipped to the states, then again I cant afford to fly to scotland and go to games anyway so it doesnt matter

I was in a fight with a lad at hampden when Rangers beat us in the cup and a scarf came flying over my head and on to the ground, your going back a few years now, late 90's I think. The fight came about because we where both angry at the time. Even now though I can't understand someone who can through away there scarf.

I have three scarfs which all have sentimental value and I can only think that the people who do this are showing that they are only glory hunters and will walk away at the drop of a hat, do we really need that sort of support.

To think, ok not that ground but the old ground is where I have my fondest memories with winning the league on the last day, now with seeing a scarf all over the tv kinda takes a bit of that feeling away.

If someone wants to throw a scarf, let them. Its nobody else business. Some people are very judgmental. I would never say anything to someone for doing this and there would be problems if someone got on to me about it. To each his own.

    Pile of *

Its a way of showing that you are angry.

    I * hate this glory-hunter phrase.

How can you call a fan in Paisley on a cold Wednesday night, when the team is in its worse state for 10 years, a glory-hunter?

Ive more of a problem with the fans that was waiting on the bus back to shout abuse at the players then when the players give them it back its they should never play for us again etc , lets get it right them players was hurting as much as us on that park they dont like getting beat anymore than we do yes there payed very well but that still gives us no excuse to abuse them .

Gloryhunters at a midweek away game when the league is over? :97: Away fans are the most loyal and supportive, mate.

It also gives the huns a great * laugh........and makes our 'best fans in the world' claims laughable. What gave the board the wake-up call was empty seats at CP and slow season ticket sales....Don't kid yourself it was anything else mate.

our 'best fans in the world' claims are laughable. Have you ever seen the atmosphere at some of the South American games there in a different league from us

If i was there i would have done it and it doesnt mean "* celtic" in the slightest,Imo if i were to do that i would be doing it to get my point across that this is a * joke and a team like us shouldnt be going through the * we are in.

so what if we win the scottish cup and the fans throw their scarves on to the pitch then? will you still be disgusted? no of course you wont. fans have the right to vent their fury especially after witnessing the shittest effort from a manager and a team against st mirren ! who may i add cant score against a 9 man scum team!

i dont agree with it, i was at the game and after the 3rd goal my mate was going to throw his scarf on

i managed to talk him out of it and he thanked me for doing it later, i think it is the equivalent of throwing the towel in and giving up on celtic

fans have their right to vent their anger at the manager/board/players, but i like a lot of fans will never give up on celtic!

It's not something I could ever do as my scarf means so much to me as it's been on a rollercoaster of a ride with with, however, I can understand that in the heat of the moment peoples frustrations get the better of them and it's the only way for some people to vent those frustrations/anger it's just not something I'd feel comfortable doing myself.

Got to agree with these 2 quotes.

People pay there money to go to the games and deserve to have there thoughts / opinions heard by what ever way they see fit.

Guys would have took days off work, or half days to go and watch the * from the other night which was just the icing on the cake from the full season.

It was breaking point for all but a few

I take my Dad's old scarf to games, so would never throw that away. I'd never throw any scarf away to be honest, but I can understand why people feel the need to do it.

    Too many to name.
If you don't want your scarf just because we had a bad season then please donate it to someone who will appreciate it and has a fuller understanding of what it means to be a Celtic supporter along with the privilege of wearing the colours through thick and thin. Do these people actually listen to Glen Dalys words "We don't care if we win, lose or draw"? This new breed of fans need to stop spittin the dummy out the pram and get behind the club as a whole.

Another stupid phrase that I hate. You think that people throwing scarves away is a new thing? Its been a way of showing anger at teams for years all over the world.

If people had gone with your logic we'd still be sitting in a crumbling Celtic Park and be owned by the Bank of Scotland thanks to the Kelly dynasty. What if we'd all stood about clapping and getting behind the team like puppets back then?

Fans over threw that shambolic regime by throwing scarves, staying away, walkouts, protests, demos outside Celtic Park and venting their anger whatever way they could. People power and people anger won the day in the end and has done so again this week.

To me, these people care than more than anyone, you don't do these things if you don't care.

I don't like it either, but in recent times 4-0 against St. Mirren is the result thats closest to meriting the throwing of scarves. I never threw mine on Wednesday, however i can see how others would. Many just want to take their anger out on something and thats why many did it, the same way seats got broken too.
